Hopefully as we only have one home game in November v Brentford, which should surely attract 22,000 plus, Cardiff's home average will go over 20,000 :thumbright: :bluebird:

Re: Top average Championship attendances this season so far:

maybe its time to just accept our crowds for what they are.
the cold reality of it is those top 10 very impressive average attendances are out of reach.

it was 1951 /52.. 66 years ago we last had an average for 2nd tier football that would register on that list..

Brace yourself for possibly the worst attendance of the season. The excuse this time welsh rugbys autumn international series.

Just shows we are having good crowds as even in our promotion year it took until later in season to get the averages of these clubs? Expectations are really unrealistic at this time. :old:

Why should we "surely" get over 22,000? You're a big fan of crowd stats Annis and you know that we're very unlikely to reach 22k+. There's no evidence to support the notion that we will get a large attendance around that size

Why should we not? as Vince Alm has stated, Only one home game in a whole month and cheap tickets & City are going for Promotion to the Premier League :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

But your right we won't, as the opposition are not a big enough name for many, just watching City is not good enough for the three match a season fans.

It should not matter who the Opposition are if you follow your club, I've booked a total of 12 flights from this month to May and the opposition does not interest me from Norwich,Reading home to Barnsley etc as I'm coming to watch Cardiff City :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

It was "our club" who have knocked the stuffing out of a lot of supporters on that infamous tuesday night and whether we like it or not, a lot will not return. On the question of away support, tickets are only avaialable to season ticket holders and members.

The club are going to have to change if more supporters are to attend matches whether they be home or away.

100% Yes it was Our Club/Vincent Tan & his followers that killed the Soul of Our club & I agree many will not return whilst he is here.
But we need to try & rebuild for the sake of our club Cardiff City as we need that Soul/Passion back :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

There seems to be this idea that people need an excuse to not attend the football. And then even when people do give reasons for not going half the time they're not good enough.
If you feel that because you like attending more games than some people it makes you the better fan, that's fine and to be fair in a sense you are a better fan as you're more dedicated and help support the club more. But the idea that people who only see a handful of matches a season need a good excuse or shouldn't be classed as real fans is silly. There's always complaints about our attendance on here and then when we get a big crowd people complain about them being plastics/glory supporters/cheap skates when there's discounts. It's baffling :?

I'm in no way faulting your effort just to be clear. The fact you're attending 15(?) Games or so in a season is very impressive. But to answer Why should we not? Because we've never had that kind of support. Our current average puts us in 6th highest of the last 46 years I read on here recently. If you take into account the Premier league season + the season after where many people bought season tickets in the hope we stayed up. And also consider the 5 year price freeze the club offered in the 09/10 season (think it was that season) our current attendance is close to the best it's ever been. Although the averages may not suggest it our attendance is much better than last season, you can tell just by looking at the Ninian and Canton which are much fuller meaning people with season tickets are now turning up when previously they didn't.

If we are going to have a spike in attendance it'll be January onwards after the Half Season tickets kick in :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Cheers :thumbright: :bluebird:

I supported City for 43 consecutive seasons as a season ticket holder and if I still lived in the U.K. I would still be at 99% of games home and away. No matter who we played :bluebird:

With City putting out very cheap half/season tickets, I also believe our attendances should go up quite a bit :bluebird:

Attendances at many clubs during the 70's/80's & 90's were quite low due to various reasons from hooliganism to grounds being run down etc.

Modern stadiums , yes they have taken some of the atmospheres away, but attendances are well up at many of these new stadiums :thumbright:

Fans can attend when they want that's up to them, but when we have such a massive fan base, then surely other fans will be taking their places or is that only once we are a Premier League Club.

Yes for me fans who will only turn up once we are Premeir League,100% are Glory Hunters.

Other clubs fans seem to turn up more consistently, with not 500 excuses.

We do have the fan base and for me after our start to the season, we should be getting 25,000 plus, that's my strong opinion.

Why should we have 25k fans? As said previously even in our promotion year it took until late in season to achieve that amount?
Even our most successful period over 5 yr period we never had 25k whats different now other than NW! yes love to have 25k but
Cant see it unless near top after jan roll:

But according to overwhelming evidence and statistics we don't have the fan base to achieve 25k+ at our current level or the current time. If we are where we are in the closing stage of the season we will probably hit over 25k. If we are in the Premier league next season then we will definitely be over 25k. But at this current period of time in the season we shouldn't be getting near those numbers as an average.

Leeds and Villa are both anomalies due to the massive bargains and massive away support respectively. 20k is very good and we are probably getting between 4000 and 6000 more fans in the stadium than last year

We averaged on paper about 16,000 with about 13,500 actually turning up, we now average on paper just under 20,000 with about 17,500 actually turning up, but this season with away Support coming has nearly doubled to about 2,500.
I agree an increase , but we have been Top 2 of the Championship for nearly three months, a dream come true.

If you were honest you would like/ expect us to be in the Top of home supports in the Championship, because I would and so would our club, Neil Warnock and Vince Alm :thumbright: :bluebird:

Warnock is the one asking continually for bigger crowds.

All I have done is put out the latest Championship average home supports, not my fault we are not in the Top 10, even though our team has never been lower than 3rd in the Championshio.

I don't reply on Vince coz i can't be bothered to anymore,we are the top surported club in Wales ypu moaned ladt year saying that only 12h were actually turning up and now you're moaning when according to you another 8 k are turning up week in week out and you're m9qny from 20 thousand miles away

I don't agree with you, I think that most people this year turn up or if they dont give there ticket for someone to use,the stadium is much fuller this year

Wrong Wez, I know for a fact quite a lot don't come to every home game & night games, many families stay away unless of course its Leeds home.

Agree with you ,nearly 20k a match is brilliant average and makes us the no 1 surported club side in wales

Wez, I noticed you don't make these same comments on Vince Alms Fb when Vince calls for more support ?

We're a small club, it is what it is.
