I liked how tomlin, yet to start a league game until this evening. Steps in and performs like he is the first name on the team sheet. Some lovely passes and footwork plus we looked more dangerous from set pieces with his deliveries. Mendez Lang however is starting to get back to
His scintillating best again. Tough call this evening.

Mendez-Laing - just. A good all round team performance. Nice to see us score 3 without Zohore up front, I think I'm in a minority of one as far as he is concerned. I have not noticed anyone giving the ref a slating yet, is that because we won?

Hoilett for me was MOTM and a very close second was Memdez-Laing, thoroughly enjoyed the game and was a total contrast to the Millwall game :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

The attacking performance was top notch but Tomlin was on another level tonight and they couldn’t live with him, showed when he went off I thought

It's hard messaging from the stands but it made me smile when Norms pointed it out, too!

Great game and a deserved win for City, so everyone happy tonight! :thumbright: :ayatollah:

yes..i figured it was predictive text...but the idea of this new fella having shots and setting up goals only to be subbed before id even noticed him really tickled me..
but yes ..sounds daft because we are 2nd..but a NEEDED home win

Lee Tomlin was excellent, but I chose Junior Hoilett outstanding :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Tomlin didn't get involved first half hour, but he adds so much to the team. For me, over the game, it was between Hoilett and Mendez and I went for the former as he scored.

I have always said i go to watch professional football to see players do things that i can't.

NML was on it all game, Holiett for the first half ( he tires badly in the second) but when Tomlin got in the groove the cocky little bugger was on a different level for about 20 mins.

Tomlin for me with Mendez-Laing a close second.
Besides desperate to win games, I love being entertained - speedy wingers, nutmegs, flicks etc.
Tomlin, creativity from midfield at last!!

I think they all played well apart from Etheridge kicking out of hand, Tomlin was really good looked really comfortable holding on to the ball, showed some arrogance aswell which is good to see. Bogle showed some cracking skill but for me most definately was Lee Tomlin.

Tomlin for me, everything he was involved in seemed to open the game up for us and he offers that little bit extra which the opposition don’t expect. I agree, he wasn’t involved that much in the first 20 minutes but perhaps that was down to a lack of game time. I was disappointed when he went off but hope he’s being saved for Saturday. With Tomlin and Patterson in the team,we could have another 2 gems going forward. :bluescarf:

Maybe because the ref had a decent game, played good advantages and let the game flow? Only a couple of dodgy throw in decisions but that happens every game.

Bogle man of the match for me, he actually competes in the air unlike Zohore, won the ball and held it up well, as well as pressing the defensive line with runs in behind the defence. Defensively he closed down defenders with a purpose too. If Bogle keeps up the work rate I can see Zohore struggling for a place (unless we play two up front and what a combo those two could be!)
