Reports are surfacing that a large group of Roma Ultras stormed The Shamrock pub in Roma last night, attacking a number of Chelsea supporters enjoying a drink before tonight’s Champions League clash.

The Ultras were seen wearing balaclavas and caps and carrying sticks and batons, as they stormed the pub just after 11pm last night, heavily outnumbering Chelsea fans.

Chelsea fans were drinking in the Shamrock Irish Pub on Via del Colosseo when Giallorossi Ultras stormed the place. The attack, which was obviously organised, left a number of Blues fans cut and bruised, but, thankfully, there were no serious injuries. The pub, however, was said to need a good clean up as tables and chairs were smashed in the attack.

The police arrived quickly to lock down the area and the Ultras quickly fled. Two arrests were made at the scene, both believed to be part of the Fedayn Ultras group, with police now reviewing CCTV tapes to try and identify the other assailants.

Police are already said to be on high alert ahead of tonight’s game, with fears of retaliation to the trouble earlier in the month in West London after Roma supporters attacked police, forcing a number of local residents to run for cover.

There are fears amongst the police that some of the 2000 Chelsea fans heading to the capital will unite with organised Lazio Ultras, with plans to ambush Roma fans before the game.

Foreign fans are getting away with it, yet if British fans were still doing this, there would be big repercussions.
