yep or book a taxi into the city and pre arrange the same firm to take you home..hard to believe all those people went without any thought of getting home later.

will you A} make sure trains are running at all..and if so to what extent..
or B} just roll up at the station morning of the game and hope for best.?

I was in Cardiff and saw the que, most of the people there weren't from Cardiff and to be honest going to other cities I've never pre booked taxis and never had major issues. The taxi we got in to town said they wernt taking any bookings later. We started walking back to the bay and ended up hijacking a minibus taxi with a few young lads in - the driver was charging from £40 to get back to penarth. The whole situation is a joke really, we're obviously not set up for this kind of event are we... I wonder how many of those people will be rushing back to Cardiff or telling they're friends not to come here for events!

No we are not set up for such events like uefa cup final fa cup finals and big pop artists all with 70k + crowds but some how we managed to stage them! yes ripping off people is crap but it happens at every event everywhere, my hols over xmas is 3k more than normal why ? Because everyone is going home for xmas to carribean airlines and hotel puts premium on stay!

Cardiff is crying out for better transport, obviously we aren't London so can't expect a 'tube-like' service, but surely Arriva can adjust their timetables for big events like this. Put on more trains for a few hours either side of the event and that would go a long way to solving the problem surely? I don't think taxis are to blame here either, although as far as I'm aware if you agree a fare before you get in the car then they aren't legally obliged to run the meter? Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Trains ok if live in valleys or Cardiff area but outside that most trains stop around 9ish when leaving Cardiff , people living in travel distance of Cardiff should have organised transport Home would do it on ny eve so why not at a major event where taxis are going to be busy. Apparently all hotels fully booked so most outsiders planned there trip.

And don't forget it was a Saturday night a very late finish night clubs closing how many taxis do you think it take to satisfy demand? 500 a 1000? Love to know what you think taxis could do to facilitate 5k 10k 20k people all at once or within an 1hour or two of end fight!

People quote other city's but none have events that hold 70k + on a sat night that finish later than public transport does! So only mode of transport is taxis.! How can anyone be surprised that there are problems? Hotels all booked up so guessing majority of taxi users are from outside city but within travel distance of home? Other events didn't have trains cancelled in fact rugby had extra carriages, more staff and later trains put on.

Taxis are nitpicking the best fares.....what does that do?
Leaves people cueing on the street who can't get home.

Uber were raking it in, seen loads of posts on Facebook reference the prices being extortionate due to the demand.

extensive travelling on a supporters coach....
was at wembley last night and queued for an hour just to get in tube station.
imagine a tube strike....???????.you then have 2 sorts of people..those that have sorted alternative means of transport...and those that have not because they see them selves as extensive travellers and above all that..
