Having made a cameo debut for the first team at the weekend, the Scot did his long-term hopes of a place in the first team no harm at all with this performance against Watford DVP.

Linked up well with Cameron Coxe on the right, and made a series of vital interceptions that kept the visitors at bay.

Watford struggled to keep up with the full-back's pace all evening and, while his final ball could perhaps have been better, he most certainly has the ability to cause a headache for Championship teams.

Encouragingly, he also looks a handful in the air, and forced visiting goalkeeper Sam Howes into a couple of good saves with some impressive headers.
