Greg Halford?

A largely quiet evening for the 32-year-old against Watford DVP.

Did his job in the centre of the park with little fuss or drama, but didn't really do enough to catch the eye.

It wasn't a bad performance, more an understated one, and Halford will surely have to do more if he wants to force his way into Warnock's first team thinking.

He certainly has the ability to become a contender for the first team once more, but you get the feeling the utility man remains down the pecking order in terms of a place in midfield, and indeed at the heart of the defence.

Halford will need to put much more in to get back in to the first team.

He's classed as a 'utility player', but I've been unimpressed so far. He can be very skilful and has a better long throw than Gunnars, but centreback might suit him best.

He is but he's also a squad player. I don't think he'll ever force his way into the first team regularly barring horrendous injuries.

He's a great squad player. Halford the fans and warnock all equally know he won't cement a place in the team because we've got better players. But the guy is professional, versatile and reliable just what teams need from back up players.
