Playing Quality Football/ But Warnock Still Wants Him Gone

Wed Oct 25, 2017 12:22 pm

Anthony Pilkington has continued to play at a very high standard for the DVP, But is still a player thats on the City list to leave.

Neil Warnock
Maybe its Pilks high Wages (approx£20,000 a week)?
But who would take on Pilks wages?

Maybe not keen on him?
Maybe personal?

Monday nights DVP win over Watford.

Anthony Pilkighton his standards, it was a quiet game for the Irishman against Watford's DVP, who came into this game on the back of a fine run of form that had seen him net four goals in his last three outings for the under-23s.

Nevertheless, he looked confident and composed through the middle of the park, holding the ball up well to help unleash the pace Cardiff had down the flanks. He also managed to carve out a couple of opportunities of his own too.

His vicious parried effort midway through the second half lead to Cardiff's second goal of the evening and he was once again hugely comfortable.

WOULD YOU INCLUDE ANTHONY PILKINGTON IN YOUR MATCH DAY SQUAD??

Above Feeny probably yeah. But if he's on big wages it's prob why he's getting frozen out like many before him.

In footballing terms, it makes total sense to have him in the matchday squad every time.

Fair enough big wages so he wants him moved on,but why not put him in the squad and maybe he will get a chance to play at some point. He’s here til January so we are paying them wages whatever.Surely more chance to sell him if he’s in match day squad.
Unless there’s more to it I just don’t understand!

we seem to have operated like this for some time { not just under Warnock } not wanted so frozen out..

i always believed the best way to get rid of a player was to have them on show, even if on the bench.

I believe so as well but if Warnock wants him out due to wages or another reason that's good enough for me.

I don't understand this version of he's being frozen out because on big wages, the club are still paying him no matter if he's playing or not

Perhaps we’ll see more of him when Feeneys loan expires in January.

Because if he's not playing then Pilks will want first team football elsewhere I guess?

Perhaps its to do with bonus's , perhaps it £20k with match day bonus's ?maybe a lot less if he doesn't play , or doesn't make the match day squad ?

Quality football maybe but at that level he should stand out. Even the article says in that game he had a quite night so hardly pushing for a return. The way we play I don't see a place for him on the bench, we play with the pace out wide so Feeney is that option. Tomlin the creative one and we have Ward upfront as back up. For me its a no, he had the option to go but wanted to stay for the money, I don't blame him for that but this is why he isn't being considered, he would have known that im sure.

Rated him for a good while and was one of our key player's but now for me not missed.

Sometimes you have to look for clues. Warnock has said many times that the squad are a tightly knitted bunch at the moment with no detractors and all pulling the same way. I believe there's the clue.

Reports that Pilkington has 'dissed' Neil Warnock in some way, so looks like he's going the way of O'Keefe!

It's a given that if you slag off your boss that there is only one person that is going out of door...
His golf probably improving though.

Prefer him over Feeney any day. Unless his playing bonus is more than Feeneys wage it makes no sense. Or could he have a clause in his contract where so many appearances he gets a longer contract like JFH has before with us?
