Hull and Birmingham fans clash during football match as police struggle to keep them apart during one-sided tie

Hull City's dominant victory over Birmingham City was marred by fan clashes as tensions boiled over in the stands of the KCOM Stadium.

The teams met in a Football League Championship match on Saturday afternoon with Hull racing into a 3-0 lead within 26 minutes before scoring three more in the second half to make it 6-0.

It was an embarrassing scoreline for Birmingham fans to absorb and excessive taunting from their counterparts appeared to get the better of some individuals, who attempted to bridge the gap that separated them.

A large police presence was required to maintain order while one man suffered facial injuries as supporters attempted to break the human barrier formed by match stewards.

One fan appeared to get within a whisker of making it across the divide before two policemen successful pulled him to the ground, stopping a potentially unsavory confrontation with an opposing supporter.

It capped another horrible day for Birmingham, who remain inside the Championship's bottom three after a humbling defeat to Hull, who were relegated from the Premier League last season.

The Brummies recently sacked Harry Redknapp after a poor start to the season but caretaker boss Lee Carsley was unable to rouse his team against a rampant Tigers side as new manager Steve Cotterill watched from the stands.

Hull themselves have not been that impressive this season with the three points taken from Saturday's tie enough to lift them to 17th place.

Fraizer Campbell, David Meyler, Jarrod Bowen, Kamil Grosicki, Markus Henriksen and Seb Larsson all scored for Hull before Sam Gallagher hit a stoppage-time consolation for the visitors.

Not a huge divide in the seats between home and away fans by hull city. They have low crowds of 14 to 15k so need to make the divide greater!

Makes for a far better atmosphere in the stadium when fans are closer together though :bluebird:

Fully support that as rhibk canton should swap ends but the divide seen in the picture is to close and causes potential clashes such as this....
