' Plan B '

We have used a few different formations but now teams fear us at the CCS which is great not bad, and come to frustrate I have no doubt this will be worked on at the training ground over the next few weeks. It can be difficult as proved today, we got to the box but no room at all to thread a pass or space to run in to.

It's a good problem but a problem none the less, tomlin will feature but how do we score against sides who look to restrict the grass for the front three to run in to?

Tomlin came on at the right time and for the right reasons, but he was very poor and we lost our shape in my opinion

I agree I like Tomlin and was very happy to see he was coming on but I was disappointed in his performance today

I said at half time to bring Tomlin on for Damour but it didn't change anything, he struggled though, I think he needs to be further forward in a 4-2-3-1 than our current 4-3-3. It would mean Ralls being slightly deeper though

I agree with Tomlin coming on but I to was disappointed but to be fair it's hard to come on for the last ten minutes and expect to get up to speed but I think he should have come on for ralls and kept damour on we missed Bryson today

For me I don't understand why he left Zohore on for the full 90, give Ward a chance ffs.

Thought Ward should have come on instead of Feeney

I agree with a lot of the comments above, especially missing Bryson, he is brilliant in tight spaces as is Hoilet, but the doubled and trebled up on him today, also Ward should have been given some time especially when Zohore had an injury .....

I thought half time he should have gone with a back 3 as derby weren't interested in going forward at that time

Tomlin on earlier (60th minute)and Ward on for the last 20min.

Derby were Knackered at the end and wouldnt have handled the extra pace and movement.

But hey, we all make great armchair managers!!!

Thought big Ken was poor today.
Kept getting the wrong side of Davies making it hard for him to win anything.
I'm sure NW knows what he's doing, but his reluctance to make any subs before the 83rd minute cost us again today. Derby were average at best. They only looked a threat when Nugent came on. Fresh legs would have killed them off. Why pay all that money for Wardy if you ain't going to play him.
It made it a long drive home. :bluebird:

For those knocking tomlin, it's extremely difficult to come into a game so scrappy and tight for 20 minutes after having played barely any football the past few months.

The guys got quality but he's not a world beater... Given more game time he will shine!

I personally think he should have been given more time, but derby made it very hard for us and a point is a point so can't complain too much.

As much as i think NW is outstanding for us i do wish he would give subs more time 8 to 10 minutes is just not enough to get into the game we need to be able to change things positively with the use of subs giving them 20 minutes or so at the very least

Trouble is if you make too many changes and too soon it can also go against you.Sometimes your dammed if do,dammed if you don't.Yesterday was one of those days.

When I get a bit down after performaces like yesterday I recall the brand of football played under Malky in our promotion year then I feel a bit better.

I was saying the same thing. But he did disappoint a bit yesterday.

Agree. When ken went down he wasn't right for 10 mins or so after ward would of been the choice then. But definitely should of came on instead of Feeny . Not seeing him as a game changer can't wait for kadeem to come back better option winger than Feeny

Problem was if Big Ken is out-muscled he's not got a chance at all. His footwork isn't the best. Curtis Davies was spot-on, he had him in his pocket. And Andre Wisdom caught Hoillett on a bad day.

You'd think sticking your biggest man on their biggest man would work, but actually it's better to get someone who can spin around a big centre-half at times. It would've been best to put someone like Tomlin up top in place of Zohore after about 60 minutes to achieve this. Feeney on for Hoillett was the right choice IF NW put Tomlin up top.
