Championship referee James Linington takes charge of match tomorrow .
We have won 9 and lost just one of the matches he has referred !!!
Let’s hope it’s ten tomorrow

Kevin Friend did a great job on Tuesday. Pleasantly surprised as not been overly impressed with him when I’ve seen him referee matches recently.
But did very well on Tuesday.
Hopefully tomorrow’s referee can do just as well.

I thought Friend was excellent too, even though I didn't agree with every decision. He let the players know he was in charge when he needed to, let the game be physical enough and tried to make it flow.

Definatly helps when you've a good ref that lets football flow

Pity today's ref was a complete buffoon although we got what we deserved today no one deserved to win today's game

He was the worst ref this season. Can someone tell me why we bother to have linesmen who wont make a decision on who should have a throw in without looking at what the ref decides before putting up their flag. What a waste of time linesmen are.

So far this season we have had 7 good refs, 3 poor ones, and 1 absolutely diabolical ref who is not fit for purpose.

Derby obviously have not read this forum's book of excuses yet otherwise they would have mentioned their 550 miles worth of travel in 4 days this week. Despite all their travelling, they managed not to lose either game. Must be using more comfortable buses than us.

I felt the ref completely lost control of the game today. Not in a discipline way more in the fact he wasn't watching the game in front of him. Made some very strange choices and as someone else mentioned the linesman were useless too.. do the referees get marked by someone from FA each game? Would be interesting to see what they thought of the official's performance

He was ok..... Three decisions which showed why he isn't premier standard though; 1. Stopping play when Cardiff attacking for a Derby player down injured ( not a head injury). NML had a clear run on the wing when the ref brought the game to a halt. 2. Playing good advantage following a foul on Ken, then watching as the ball get played through to a clean through Hoilett by Ralls and then bringing play back for a tug on Ralls. 3. Not getting a card out for Keogh when he stopped Kens run second half with a forearm to the face. It wasn't deliberate, but was dangerous.
Overall he was satisfactory. About average for championship, and I would prefer him to Oliver Langford/David Coote any day.

Seen better, seen worse. The minute we failed to win it was inevitable that the ref was going to crop up on this forum. Happens every time we drop points but at least there have been 7 games so far this season where the ref has'nt come in for any stick.

James Linnington is a decent referee who had a poor game yesterday but it happens to every referee, one poor game doesn't make him a poor referee. David Coote gave Birmingham a penalty against us when Matt Connolly got hit full in the face with his hands no where near the ball and we lost that game 1-0, not his best ever moment. It was Curtis Davies who stopped and he should have been booked.
