An average of 309,000 watched Cardiff City v Leeds United on Sky Sports.

An impressive number when these were the average viewing figures for the two English teams playing in the Champions League on BT Sport on the same night:

Apoel Nicosia v Tottenham Hotspur - 93,000
Manchester City v Shakhtar Donetsk - 263,000

Hopefully this will encourage more live games and revenue .

Lots of virgin customers like me have bt sport for free, so not just people who subscribe to BT

Personally it's a lot,lot more, just in Santa Ponsa there were over 20 pubs showing the match, they don't include all over Europe etc

Over 300,000 viewers is a fantastic figure. Shame that BBC Wales didn't give it the coverage it deserved. Biased at worst, incompetent at best.

got lucky in north birmingham in the week when most pubs were showing man city i made them put on the city game where i was . the local aston villa fans didn't mind and were impressed with our display . the 2 leeds weren't tho
