MY VIEW: A VERY ORDINARY SIDE :

Derby County don't excite me at all . They are trying to buy promotion and pay good wages -

But none of their players has been of top pedegree and those that are good are past their best e.g. our ex Ledley , Huddlestone and Nugent. We know Lawrence from his time with us & on his day he can be quite useful - but he is inconsistent. Winall on loan from Sheff. Wed. Has been scoring - but it will be either him or the aging Nugent who will start as the lone striker.

Their best player is a guy called Bryson who is inexplicably out on loan to a Welsh club but is ineligible to play (damn! :-(). They will not be able to handle our pace and movement.

If we play our natural game and don't get cocky or complacet - I will be disappointed if we don't win.

I think all us fans are expecting a win on Saturday but hey ho let's not forget this is the Championship
We will miss Bryson cos he has fitted so well and really played well in oplnion.
Sometimes it's a case of after the lords mayor show and all that but I'll take a gritty 2-1 victory.

I think derby are bwttwr than ordinary so really good players. Yes we are better but a draw would not be a terrible result. Bryson is a big miss but ralls and gunnars back in will help

i think Leeds came here last night in hope of getting the 3 points..i spoke to 3 of their welsh fans {ST holders } yesterday afternoon who all fancied them to give us a hammering
up until lasst night im sure most { certainly the media who have only talked about Wolves and Leeds } saw us as no more than early pace setters who were in a false position, last night changed that with eveybody watching on the box.
i just dont see anyone else comming here for quite a while with the same mind set..fans , players or managers..
we have become the team youll be happy with a point at..so expect to see lots of double decker buses and time wasting.

we can beat Derby..but i dont think its going to be easy ..

Yeah good post.
I agree, I think teams will not be so open and make it difficult for us to score against them. We may see a few more home draws as the season goes on.
I think we'll beat Derby though!! :ayatollah:

I am amazed the media don't even have us as underdogs to get a top 6 place. We could have got a top 6 finish last season if Warnock joined us at the start. So to think we are not even worthy of a top 6 now Warnock has been allowed to add to the squad with his own players I just don't understand.

I don't like predicting an easy win for us but I will be disappointed if we don't win against Derby with plenty to spare. Saying that I shouted the same words before the Preston game so I will shut up now.

Derby underachieving yet again but they are still dangerous with some quality and a decent manager, we can't be complacent.

Derby are a good side there is no denying that, but tbh their side seems a lot weaker this season than it has been in a long time. They no longer have Will Hughes, Jeff Hendrick, Craig Bryson, Tom Ince, Cyrus Christie etc. Instead they have replaced them with Joe Ledley, Huddlestone, and the inconsistent Lawrence. Now again let me reiterate I'm not saying they haven't got a good side but its not like they side they've had over the last 2-3 years which imo were the most talented players in the championship.

Good players, ordinary team - two different things.

Derby have a bloated squad of over paid and over rated players who arnt up for the championship Imo.

On their day they can be dangerous but if we go again like we did last night we should do them,

I think if we should be piling the pressure on every team that comes to the CCS, if we want to win the league then teams like derby need to be seen off at home, I think most teams will struggle to win at the CCS, and we ll find teams coming and putting 11 behind the ball and counter attacking, cardiff have earned the respect from teams now.
