Mane - Red or Yellow Card ?

We all like a healthy debate so for those who have seen the incident do you think it was a red or yellow card ?

Listening to the pundits they have mixed views on it so wondered what you all thought ?

I can see why it was given but it was a bit harsh considering he only had eyes for the ball and he would never have expected the keeper to have been that far out.

If it was in central midfield I doubt it would have been a red.

I thought it was a yellow, if they keeper never headed in a down motion his head would not of been hit.

As pundits said a yellow would have been ok but by definition it was a red ! Personally thought it was a yellow. Even if he hadn't put foot up he would still have clattered him hard

Studs that high into the face. You put your foot that high you're going off if you make contact.

Peripheral vision would have given him the knowledge that someone else was going for the ball.

Yellow for me, and I even say that reluctantly, what the laws of the game say are a different matter though. For the record, not that it matters, I cant stand Liverpool.

In today's football it had to be red.
The referee had no choice and got it right.

Red for me, has to be dangerous play. I think people think it's a lessor foul because it's on a keeper out of his box.

After many 'looks' at the incident, I agree with that the referee had no real choice and took his time to make the right decision. However, Mane and Liverpool could easily argue their case for a 'footballing' incident

Nasty incident though and somewhat lucky it doesn't happen more often!

Ban him for life . Klopp is always whinging about something. They think they are something special

Martin Tyler on Sky said that if the ref hadn't have given a red, he'd have been marked down by his assessors.

it's one of those when the player was looking at the ball but can find himself unlucky . put it this way if i was playing now i would have went for the ball too

a red card was the right decision however you look at it

Red card for me studs are high

Red every day, foot up head highth studs facing, contesting the ball with another player going for the same ball if he did not make contact then a yellow, but he did, so definitely a red.

Yellow as clear accident

100% Red he could have taken his head off, it was totally reckless, if that had been against out keeper you would all be going Mental as would Warnock and Blackwell.....

Interestingly same incident on Swansea game but only difference is that player didn't connect got a yellow! But rules say its the dangerous use of boot that gets you a red card?

If I had tried to get my foot that high I would have popped my hip!
