My Opinion: " Current Cardiff City Squad 2017-18 "

FINAL VERDICT : IS THIS OUR YEAR?

(A) I believe we will play 4-3-3 formation and that it is the most suitable considering the players we have. Howerer, we can play with few other formations.

(B) We have excellent cover in every position with any player on the bench + even most of those who don't even make the 1st 18 are arguably as good as those who start and can offer something new to the game.

(C) THERE IS ONLY ONE EXCEPTION AND THAT IS THE COVER TO THE LONE DOMINAMT CENTRAL LEAD STRIKER.

D) We have an excellent multi-talentented manager who can motivate, lead, pick the right team, very good at substitutions, inspires the fans and handles the press well.

Very significantly he manages Tan extremely well and make no mistake WARNOCK CALLS THE SHOTS not Tan - yes he speaks well & kindly but he is the gaffer and master, that is only way Neil Warnock works/manages sides.

My Opinion: " Current Cardiff City Squad 2017-18 "

OUR INCREDIBLE SQUAD AND VERDICT:

A 4-3-3 formation:

(1) GOALKEEPERS : Etheridge + Camp + Murphy ....all excellent.

(2) RT. BACK : Peltier, Patterson, Jazz & Connoly....all excellent

(3) LEFT BACK : Bennett and Jazz ...excellent (

4) CENTER HALVES : Bamba, Morrison , Manga and Connolly....excellent

(5) CENTER MIDFIELD box to box man : Damour and Bryson ....excellent

(6) 2 HOLDING MIDFIELDERS :Gunnars, Ralls, Feeney, Halford , M. Harris + Bryson can do this job....excellent

(7) 2 SUPPORTING STRIKERS in attack but who will also drop to become defending wingers : Mendez-Laing, Hoilett , Ward , Tomlin , K.Harris & Pilkington + Feeney can do the job....wow excellent

(8) LEADING DOMINANT CENTRAL STRIKER who can score, win and hold the ball, create goals for others and create space for his team-mates - Zohore- excellent! Bogle is unproven and so a concern.

Conclusion: we have every right to dream with a squad like this and Neil Warnock at the Helm :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

I get what you mean, but finding a backup option with the same attributes as Zohore is virtually impossible and any backup proven goalscorer would cost over £10-15m.

Zohore stays fit - we all good. If not, we might start to struggle. But Danny Ward can play up front (although for whatever reason we employ him as a winger) and may prove to be a decent option. Hopefully though, it never comes to that

To me, this season we have generally played 4411, on or twice 4141 and with a a sweeper on the opening day at Burton.

4411
Etheridge's
Richards Morrison Bamba Bennett
M-L Gunnars Ralls Hoilett
Damour or Tomlin
Zahore

4141
Etheridge's
Richards Morrison Bamba Bennett
Damour
M-L Gunnars Ralls Hoilett
Zahore

The main difference has been whether the opposition has played a player (such as Neves at Wolves) in a deep position and City have played 4411 so Damour has marked him. If the opposition have played a player in the hole behind their striker we've adopted 4141 so Damour played between the two hours and marked their withdrawn striker.

Or a team like Villa who play John Terry and we go 0-0-10 ;)

we do have a very strong squad for this season. Well pleased that we have Bryson on loan for this season plus an option to buy?
He could be another Graham Kavanagh and if we do buy him, perhaps a future Captain of the team!
