Zimbru Stadium

The Zimbru Stadium is a football-specific stadium in Chișinău, Moldova completed in May, 2006 with a capacity of 10,400 people, corresponds to all norms required by UEFA and FIFA for national and international matches. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Zimbru Chișinău and the Moldova national football team.

The Moldovan football team's second biggest defeat took place in this stadium, a 5-0 defeat to England in September 2012, during FIFA World Cup 2014 Qualification.

The construction of the stadium took 27 months to complete at a cost of almost 11 million USD.

Previous Meeting - This Campaign

(BBC)

Wales started their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign in confident fashion as they convincingly beat Moldova.

The Euro 2016 semi-finalists initially faced spirited Moldovan resistance but led 2-0 at half-time thanks to goals from Sam Vokes and Joe Allen.

Gareth Bale seized on a woeful pass for the third, then netted a last-minute penalty for his second of the night.

How It Stands

Moldova lost 3-0 at Serbia on Saturday, and lie bottom of the group with just two points.

Also on Saturday, Wales beat Austria 1-0. That result leaves Chris Coleman's men third in the group, and two points behind second-placed Ireland.

Match Odds

Moldova - 8/1
Wales - 2/5
Draw - 16/5

There is a arguement to say a ireland win would be better. As long as serbia fail to beat austria away afterwards. We would have a straight shoot out with ireland at home for top spot

I think it could one of those scrappy games full of misplaced passes and frustrating to watch. May not be an easy ride tonight, and while a draw would not be a big surprise to me, I think we will eventually come away with all three points - just.

Can't see Ledley starting the game. Based on Saturdays game I'd much rather play Lawrence or Edwards

8 feet high and 8 yards wide. That's a fair size target, but at the moment our players are making the goals look as if they are 8 feet wide and 8 inches high.

Deserved in the end.

Second half really dominant. The amount of blocked shots that looked destined for the net!

Here's the full match and second half stats.

Move up to second in the group.
