' KENNETH ZOHORE / CARDIFF CITY '

Cardiff City star Kenneth Zohore handed Bluebirds huge 'I'm staying' boost after Everton showed interest.

Zohore:"I want to stay with Cardiff City and help the boss Neil Warnock take us up,I have no intentions of leaving"

Cardiff City star Kenneth Zohore handed the Bluebirds a huge transfer window boost by pledging his future to the club.

Everton and Brighton were among the clubs who had enquired about Zohore in recent days in a bid to prise him away from South Wales and up into the Premier League.

Kenneth Zohore spoke to Cardiff officials earlier this week to emphasise his desire and ambition to help the Bluebirds win promotion this season.

He reiterated his wish to play under Neil Warnock for at least the remainder of the season to continue his development into one of the Championship's best centre-forwards.

Zohore also feels he owes the Bluebirds something, after they plucked him from little known Belgian club KV Kortrijk and revived his career.

Zohore is the most irreplaceable player at the club and table-topping Cardiff know selling him would have sent out the wrong signals.

They also need a player, though, who is 100 per cent committed to the club and Zohore has given that assurance, despite the ongoing talk of a possible move up into the big time.

Hull have also slapped in a bid in excess of £10million for Cardiff's top scorer last season, but Cardiff will want a figure closer to the £20m mark for their star man.

Boss Warnock is even on record as saying Zohore is worth £30m and will only go to a top 10 Premier League club.

Zohore just wants to focus on scoring the goals that will keep Cardiff at the top of the table in their hunt for promotion this season.

Thanks for that Ken.

You could have said that a few weeks ago and saved us all a lot of worry! :laughing6:

Seriously though, it's fantastic news that he's staying and a real boost for the remainder of the season.

Well done to him and to all at the club who have helped turn his career around in a way I can't recall seeing with any other player at the City.

Wish he could have said that sooner. Yet why prevent the club getting the offers. We still need to be run as a business so don't remove from sale.

Professional and a class act!

Thank you Ken for staying

Did he ever kick a ball for Kortrijk ?

I don't think he did.....

im not even sure he visited the club for a cup of tea mate.
both his signing for them and his loan to us were the same day while we had a transfer embargo but could still loan players..
it would be nice if one of main journalists covering our club either took a bit more interest . or tried just reporting instead of trying to add a bits of nonsense..KV Kortrijk shoul be well known to any reporter writing about Cardiff City.

The club have done so well not in only rejecting any offers or enquiries but making him want to stay.

For those saying they wish Ken had said earlier that he planned to stay with Cardiff, have a read of this from Wales Online on 20th July 2017:

Kenneth Zohore wants to stay at Cardiff City after being excited about the quality of the club’s summer signings and Neil Warnock’s promotion aspirations.

The 23-year-old striker has been the subject of interest from Hull City but insists he’s happy with the Bluebirds after coming of age under Warnock last season.

Zohore hit 12 goals for the Bluebirds despite only coming into the side in December.

And he wants to better those numbers in the 2017/18 season, with promotion a realistic ambitions for Warnock’s troops.

“There has apparently been interest in me from a couple of clubs, but I am happy with Cardiff City,” Zohore told Dai Sport. “I want to stay. I will be staying.”

He has been consistent all through the summer, and never given any indication his head was turned by transfer speculation. Warnock has also appeared firm about keeping Ken and confident that he would stay, including when he joked with him about tweets from his agent. The only reason Ken would have moved was if a massive (£20m+) offer came in from a top half Premier League club - as Warnock and the club made clear all summer. They were all saying the same thing - player, manager and Board.

Ken wants to stay and improve under Warnock (and Jepson). Bennett and Morrison wanted to stay and rejected moves that would have increased their pay. Other players have come in (and rejected other offers) because of the manager and their confidence in the club. The balance sheet seems to be improving, and the wage structure also appears to be much more sensible. There is unity and belief in the squad and with the hierarchy. The fans are slowly coming back and are certainly enthused and excited. We are top of the league and all is good! :ayatollah:

Nice to hear a player wanting to truly repay the faith the manager had in him. He could easily have had his head turned by big money especially when agents get their grubby hands involved.

I like both the new signings and they should be given a chance to shine and do well for us.

However the best bit of business we did during the transfer window was keeping Ken.

We have always had to sell in the past and it's a credit to the club that we have kept him.

Roll on Fulham, Ken to get back to scoring.

Quote (PlasticFantastic): "You could have said that a few weeks ago and saved us all a lot of worry!" :?

I'm pretty certain he (and Neil Warnock) did, fella! ;)

Not their fault (Zohore and Warnock) if the usual suspects decided to put their own negative slant on it! :ayatollah:
