Neil Warnock: "Liam Feeney is a player"

Fri Sep 01, 2017 6:44 am

Neil Warnock said of the signing on Thursday evening: “Liam is a player that I’ve always liked and I think he’ll enjoy playing for me."

“I think we needed a player of his quality to come in, especially with the injury we have to Kads at the moment. I’d like to thank the Board for allowing us to bring him on loan until the end of the year.”

Liam Feeney from Blackburn Rovers.

The 31-year old winger has signed a temporary agreement with the Bluebirds until Monday, 1st January 2018.

Feeney has been a regular feature at Millwall, Blackburn Rovers & Bolton Wanderers in recent seasons at Sky Bet Championship level, and even netted twice against City for the Trotters in 2014.

Executive Director & CEO, Ken Choo, added: "On behalf of the Board, we're delighted to have Liam with us. I hope that he can help us achieve the goals that we've set for this season and we welcome him to Cardiff City Football Club."

A few fans of ours already sticking the knife in before he's kicked a ball for us.

I'm sure he will buy into the Warnock factor and do well for us in the games he plays, he looks like a big lad, if he's fit then we may have a tidy player on our hands.

Out of order.

Every player should be made welcome and a chance when he joins Cardiff City :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

It's pathetic, he has pace and fits in with how we play.

Hes fast and direct.

Its only for four months so not a huge gamble

Not sure why some are complaining

I've always quite rated him. Embarrassing if some fans not giving him the respect and welcome he should have. Hope he does well.

never heard of him - he should be given a chance like any other player - just because a player has played at a high level (like lambert) does not guarantee they'll do well.... some of our best players like zohore and laing were complete unknowns before joining us.

but this is 2017 and players / managers are judged quicker than ever. they're even talking about sacking de boer at crystal palace after 3 games.......when slade was appointed the fans here were on his back from day one because he came from league 1, with the knives sharpened whenever we lost.

Not heard of him before but I don't think any of us can question warnocks judgement so far
