What on earth has happened to Frederic Gounongbe?

i can't recall any mention of him for months now. He has a squad number on the official site but played no part in pre season and has not been in any of the match squads.

He has not played in any development matches as far as I'm aware and has not been mentioned at all during the transfer window.

Is he injured? If so, there has been no update that I can recall, no mention of him being back in training or when he might return. Has anyone seen him at training?

I was thinking the same last night, very strange. Warnock once said that Gounongbe was one of the "better" players in training.

He has had an operation for something so that is why he has not taken part in any games, and it does look like it is a long term thing

all very strange.and i dont think he was initially given a squad number.

Think he is going to be Neil's secret weapon as the season goes on cos no other manager will have a clue about him
