CONFIRMED CRAIG NOONE JOINS BOLTON ON PERMANENT DEAL

' UPDATED '

Craig Noone joins Bolton Wanderers on permanent contract for 2 years.

Bolton showed interest at the beginning of the window but couldn't get necessary permissions to conclude deal due to FFP embargo. Nottingham Forest and Burton showed interest in the mean time but nothing came of it.

Bolton contacted Cardiff on Tuesday and confirmed they may be able to get a loan deal done if Cardiff can contribute £15k of Noone's £20k wages which Cardiff were reluctant to agree to. This morning thought Bolton had permission to pay up to £10k in wages as opposed to just £5k. So Cardiff agreed to waver any fee for Noone as long as he was happy to drop wages.

Noone agreed and has been at Bolton since this morning. The FA approved the transfer this evening.

'UPDATED'

Bolton are really struggling to get funds together to complete the transfer of Craig Noone. They may not even be able to complete a season long loan as may not be able to afford Noone's wages. Selling / loaning out players looks to be the only way they'll be able to generate the funds.

i dont think their embargo allows them ..season long loans...
or..as said by others ,allowed to pay more than £4,500 a wk per player

Sounds like it ahha! As mentioned above they're under an embargo so can't really pay much. But it's the only serious interest in him so we'll probably take it

not a case of the pleading poverty..the EFL have put an embargo on them which includes not allowing them to pay any player more than £4,500 per week.
if he does end up going there with us picking up 75% of his wages it shows jusy how little interest there has been in him.

Spot on, nobody will take his wages. At the end of the day he has one Premier League master class game a season and the rest of the time he's a League One player tops so who wants to pay £25k a week for that?!

Bolton can't buy anyone for a fee , free transfers only. Loan deals can only be 6 months maximum and maximum wage we can pay is £4500 per week to any new incoming players. This embargo is killing us

Bolton have signed winger Craig Noone from Cardiff for an undisclosed fee.

The 29-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year contract at the Macron Stadium.

He made 170 appearances for the Bluebirds in all competitions and scored 19 goals.

Bolton boss Phil Parkinson said: "I am pleased to get Craig on board. He's got a lot of experience in the Championship and we're really looking forward to working with him."

Bolton Wanderers are delighted to announce the arrival of winger Craig Noone on a two-year deal from Cardiff City, subject to international clearance.

Having moved to South Wales in the summer of 2012, the 29-year-old made 170 appearances for the Bluebirds in all competitions and scored 19 goals in the years that followed.

He also played a key figure in the City team who won automatic promotion to the Premier League in 2013.

Earlier in his career, the Kirkby-born wideman spent his formative years in the game with Skelmersdale United, Burscough and Southport before securing his Football League break with Plymouth Argyle in 2008.

Impressing for the Pilgrims, as well as enjoying a loan stint with Exeter City during his time at Home Park, Noone was snapped up by then-League One outfit Brighton & Hove Albion in late 2010.

His 18-months on the south coast saw him make 64 appearances for the Seagulls in league and cup, helping them win promotion to the second tier in 2011, before Cardiff came calling five summers ago.

And having agreed terms with Wanderers on a permanent contract, Noone will link-up with his new teammates ahead of next weekend’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Middlesbrough.

Roughly £23k to around £10k. Fair play to him. He will get pay rise if they stay up.

But I thought the league had put an embargo on them meaning they couldn't pay more the 4.5k a week?

There's too much "thinking" goes on sometimes! ;)

The fact is none of us really know what he was/is now on (the same as most players) :ayatollah:

Good luck Nooney. I will always fondly remember his ayatollahs to us when he was doing his warm down at Trashton Gate last season. And of course some storming performances when we were in the PL.

I had a feeling that a mutual parting was the only way to see out a move for CN before the deadline.
