" NEIL WARNOCK ADMITS HE IS FINDING IT HARD "

Neil Warnock admits Cardiff City are struggling to compete in the current loan market, but insists he's delighted with the eight new players he has managed to add to his ranks this summer.

The Bluebirds are sitting pretty at the top of the Championship, having won all of their opening five league games, producing some impressive performances along the way.

However, Warnock is still open to further strengthening his side, and has previously hinted that he could be in the market for another central midifielder.

Given their comparatively modest transfer budget, a loan move has been touted as the most likely option .

But Warnock says that even the loan market is proving prohibitively expensive for this side.

He told BBC Radio Five Live: "I was interested in a particular player from a Premier League club, who was out on loan in the Championship last year.

"Then I got a text back from the club and was told it was going to be a million pound loan fee and a million pounds in wages. Two million for a loan player for a year? I can't get involved in that sort of money.

"The players involved obviously go to the teams that can afford them. I think there were two or three willing to do that. But I think that's going over the top a bit for our level at the minute."

Cardiff's impressive start has understandably seen some of his players attracting admiring glances from elsewhere, with striker Kenneth Zohore emerging as a target for several clubs.

Warnock is confident of emerging from the current window unscathed, and insists it will sill be a strong window for his team even if they fail to make any further additions.

He added: "I've got one or two players that clubs are quite rightly going to be looking at, but I don't think anybody will leave and if we can get the odd player in I'll be delighted.

"Even if we don't get anyone in, I'd be delighted with the eight additions that we've got. Managers all enjoy it when the window closes because it's hard work really.

Given what has been spent and the quality we have to compete in this league can any manager say they have spent better in any league? Answers on a postcard.

Surely Tan must be delighted with the business done by his new Manager! :ayatollah: :bluebird:
