Exclusive: Cardiff make cheeky offer for Celtic winger

Championship surprise packages Cardiff City have told Celtic that they are willing to take winger Johnny Hayes on loan if they do not see an immediate future for him, TEAMtalk has been told.

Neil Warnock side’s tried to sign Hayes in January and then again in the summer, but the Republic of Ireland international opted instead for Parkhead.

However, Celtic have since been able to re-sign Manchester City’s Patrick Roberts – which they did not think was an option available to them again, hence their move for Hayes.

Now with Roberts back, Cardiff have asked about the prospect of Celtic letting Hayes out on loan, and TEAMtalk has been told that Celtic are considering it.

Celtic paid £1million to Aberdeen for the 30-year-old and he has since made eight appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ side, though is yet to find the back of the net for the Bhoys.

Cardiff at currently top of the Championship table, having won all five of their matches so far.

Karl, I would def give him a chance at City.

Now that we are top of the League, Warnock will want to make sure he has a strong squad to stay up there

Well can't really say this is something worth going for especially as this guy turned us down.

However Warnocks signings have been to say the least exceptional. So as most say in Warnock we Trust.

No chance I want this lad at the club. Absolutely played us for months to generate Celtic interest and then said he never even considered a move to us anyway. Hasn't worked out well for him sitting on the bench while we're flying with far better players

Do we really need another winger with Harris coming back into the squad?

I think he'd be a great addition but surely we should be looking at a CM player.

Jack, that was my initial thought but then I thought that Celtic seemed a little slow/half-hearted in signing him the beginning, so (maybe hopefully) he must be tamping at the minute and would relish a chance at a decent club and under a decent manager who will make him feel he was wanted all along

Don't know too much about him as a player but in Neil Warnock I trust!

Nah,you need your bumps felt mate,getting a player that NW rates very highly,no transf fee,gone off the wage bill after the loan ends,goes back if he gets injured =no brainer.As for playing us thats made up BS too.

Didn't he say in an interview last week that he has no intention of playing 'down South' and was only interested in going to Celtic or if that never happened was more than happy to stay at Aberdeen.

Stuff him, he doesn't want to come here.

Just looked at their fans on Twitter and they're praying for him to go, they're saying he's the worst winger they've seen in a Celtic shirt, calling him garbage.

Annis, been told by a mate up there that he hasn't gone down well in the dressing room either. so read in it what you like but something not right here IMO.

Not denying he's cheap and probably a decent player. I honestly can't find it now but he was quoted saying he never even thought about coming to England and Warnock said himself that him and Aberdeen kept changing terms

Aberdeen probably paying him about 5K a week.......but he'd have knocked back a move down South

I don't get why we need ANOTHER winger, we still have No one, we've got Pilks who can play there, and then we have Hoillet, ML, Harris and Ward who can also play there?!
