Everton and Brighton are battling for the signature of Cardiff City striker Kenneth Zohore, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.

Zohore, 23, finished last season as Cardiff's top scorer with 12 goals and has flourished since the arrival of Neil Warnock as manager.

He has scored only once this season but he has been instrumental in the club's perfect start to the season, with five wins from five in the Championship.

Brighton have already seen two bids for Zohore rejected but are ready to come back with an improved offer.

But Everton have joined the chase, with manager Ronald Koeman confirming that they are in the market for a new striker.

Koeman is weighing up a move for Denmark under-21 international Zohore, who can play as a lone striker.

More worrying is if his agents are touting his name around

All rubbish.. nowhere near ready for Everton.. he needs to get his head down and show how good a championship player he can be for a full season .

No way would Everton even entertain a player like KZ. He is no way near that kind of standard. Everton look like they have wrapped up the deal for Diego Costa today

Only 25m - 30m I would accept. We could then go and get Dwight Gayle who is apparently not wanted at Newcastle and another top quality midfielder, but hopefully Everton wont make that bid, and we will get to keep Zohore.

Never heard of that, but don't blame him tbh, would you wanna be a striker playing under Malky. You would be isolated for 90 mins.
