Liverpool game in Cardiff pub

Sun Aug 27, 2017 3:56 pm

Just walked past a pub in Rumney in Cardiff and I can't believe the amount of grown men with Livershite shirts on and cheering like wild banchees when they scored, I thought I had been morphed next to a pub on the Anfield Road   :bluebird:

I'm afraid its always the case if you live in area that has a club that hasn't played virtually any top division football in the last 50 years.i wonder if its the same in jackland since they got to the premier league?.

Which is why they are now nearly 50 and STILL wearing the shirts.

It's a generation thing with kids not being schooled in how you should support your local club.

If their parents didn't watch football they were left to their own devices and kids like that just followed a winning side.

There are guy's in work over 60 who follow Leeds, over 45's follow Liverpool and your over 30's Man U.

I actually found it odd that there are not more Forest Supporters in the area.

The like of Liverpool, arsenal and united are well followed worldwide. It's pointless moaning about it.

I'll never understand it.
I was brought up to support Cardiff as they were my local team.
Win, lose or draw.

Coming back from London last night on the bus and there were several Cardiff blokes on there wearing Tottenham shirts talking about 'their' team's match with Burnley. I'll never get it, why the affinity with a team from another part of the country? support your local side ffs.

It made me laugh last season when a welsh leeds fan was mocking our home and away support on facebook ... they just cant see that they are part of the problem. I honestly have more respect for Swansea and Newport fans than i do for welsh people who support english football teams.

agree.
our average crowd over 2 decades stretching from 1979 to 1998 was just over 5k....{and it wasnt much better before or for a good few years after these dates }.
20 years worth of children now aged between 30s and 50s not going down NP with their fathers .
its a miracle we have recovered to the degree we have tbh.

That's why I hate Liverpool. When I was growing up and following the City away all the kids in my class were supporting Liverpool on Sportsnight and Motd. They wouldn't even know where Liverpool was on a map

Thing is real Liverpool fans hold them in contempt, met a Scouse Liverpool Fan on holiday and he said they should support their home town sides as locals often struggle for tickets for Anfield.

I always say to mates who support / follow Liverpool or Man U .
If Yoevil town were successful in the 80's they would all support Yoevil .
But for some reason they can't see it ( or don't want to) .
They also love to run Cardiff City down ????
Armchair fans , they couldn't find Lancashire on the map, and the majority have never even seen them play live, only on TV.
