" Very Interesting Stat "

Sat Aug 26, 2017 4:11 pm

Interesting stat on BBC Wales just a minute ago, and they did state that its madness to be thinking about promotion after five games, but here is that stat:

Cardiff City today became the 5th team ever to win their first five games in the second tier of the English football pyramid.

The other 4 who have done it, went on too win promotion
.

A great stat and we can go further! Fulham were last to do it in 2002. Warnock has little to do to convince our team of how good they are!

How would that relate if we won against Fulham and made it six lol :bluescarf:

Which season did Neil Lennon coin the phrase "doing a Cardiff" which season was he referring to ?

As a lifelong fan, i wait for the "inevitable" implosion every game or season :old:

2006/07 we started the season really well and started to run away with it, were top up until end of Oct , then November happened and we dropped points and by christmas we had gone from top to bottom of playoffs , then that season we finished just outside the playoffs , I believe it's the same season the 0-6 at Preston happened (we would have got to the playoffs if we lost 0-5)

Why did you bring that up. To this day it annoys the living shit out of me.

I'm convinced someone won a fortune on a bet based on that game and outcome.

We also failed to win after that game in fact think only needed 2 points from last 6 games and failed! To do so :o

I believe it was Fulham who won their first 11 games in 2000/1. They went on to get promotion got a way to go to beat that record bit then again these boys are smashing records for fun so watch this space. Come on the bluebirds

No it was a few seasons before the Preston disaster and the implosion was worse as we finished 13th. The problem was that Dave Jones, though he played attractive football, was never able to lift a side out of a bad run. Add in the off the pitch instability that occurred at end of October with Hamman effectively being ousted by the Riddler and a couple of injuries and the season petered out. Cant see that happening this year as Warnock is a better man manager and better tactical manager.

ah , I assumed it was same season as we were just outside the playoffs in 2006/2007 , (just checked was 2008/09) , I did enjoy the football under Dave Jones as when we were getting results we were entertaining to watch but as you say if we had a run of bad results we took an age to get out of it , also if we went a goal down we rarely come from behind to get anything
