Yeah, thought they would have brought 1000/1,200 considering they have had a good start, its a Saturday 3pm kick off. poor turn out really.

Slow down lads, we are in no position to start criticizing anyone, we only took 1,500 Wolves the other week on the back of 4 League and a Cup win under arguably the best manager we have had in years and with our feel good factor back, you could argue that was equally as shit. We won't be high on QPR's list of places to visit either, they have loads more closer games to choose from and the rail line situation probably knocked 100 or so off. It's not that long ago we only took 8-900 up there if memory serves me rightly. Lets not look like a bunch of hypocrites.

7th v 1st, you would expect quite a few more.
Good stadium, easy access, cheap and safe, not a long trip.
Our away support has been criticised enough before, often with justification, but maybe this puts it into context as not as bad as many other similar clubs playing at the same grounds year in year out

And last year they brought just a hundred more than this year despite it being their first away game of the season (we took 1800 there)and having won their opener 3-0. They only took 900 to Reading which is about 30 miles up the road from them (admittedly the game was on sky). We may not be the best supported side away from home but we are far better than sides like QPR. And yet at the end of the year there will be a statistic to show that QPR are a better supported away than us simply because they have 3 miles to travel to Fulham and Brentford.

Its horses for courses though, I always normally defend our fans when people criticize our away support so I just feel I would
be a hypocrite if I didn't do the same for others.

All teams followings will go up and down and QPR will be no different, they will have their turnouts I'm sure and their not so great turn outs and this one obviously not one of their greatest but I wouldn't slag it off.

After Fulham we will be going to Preston on a Tuesday granted, but more than likely top of the League whatever happens cos of Goal Difference and we will probably only take 2-300, that will be ridiculed all over the Football League no doubt and maybe justifiably, then after that we go to Sunderland where baring a complete collapse we will still be at least top 6 and I would not be at all surprised if we failed to take more than 5-600 even if we were top of the League so personaly I'm a bit careful of criticizing anyone elses support.

On the horses for courses thing to teams spring to mind straight away that I have seen get praised on here, Bolton and Sheffield Utd, Boltons Away support has been notoriously shit even when they were in the Premiership but they dropped a few divisions, started going to grounds they hadn't been in years and on the back of a successful season took a few good followings and they are the greatest fans in the world. Same with Sheffield Utd, I remember them coming down here around 2006 ish when they were going up to the Premiership and their following was shocking.

i think its more a knee jerk reaction to our fans being constantly belittled.than hypocracy.

Steve, QPR have never ever really had a consistent big away following.

They are a small supported club.

I rem in the old Second Division, they use to bring 300 fans to us,when we use to take 1,500 to them.

I was in London and have watched West Ham v QPR in the late 80's/90's, only a few hundred would go to West Ham and to Chelsea, they would never sell their allocation out.

Terrible home and away support, just always rich owners.

Bolton,QPR and Sheffield United were never as good as ours away.

Now Sheffield United and Bolton have over taken us.
