"It was a fabulous year I’ll never forget, one of the best in my life. Similar circumstances, they were struggling and then we had a great season, I still get plenty of messages from the QPR fans. It takes some beating.

We were high up most of the season, had a good group and we had a nice blend.

I think it’s the best team spirit since QPR, I don’t think you can compare the team but we have the same type of characters with good pros. And we didn’t spend much money.”

"I think the cup was a distraction if I’m honest. The FA Cup is a different ball game. I don’t think that’ll be drawn at 4am. I look forward to the FA cup.

We’ve just got to concentrate at the moment. September and October, they don’t come any more difficult. If we can get to the end of October in that top four I’ll be really pleased. The next eight weeks are really difficult.

We can go anywhere and give people a good game and we’re looking forward to the challenges."

"I’ve not seen Junior play as well since those days (at QPR). This season he’s come back from the international break and has another spring in his step.

With Nathaniel Mendez-Laing coming on board it’s made for a good trio. It’s nice they can change about. He looks a bit more of a threat, he’s always made changes but we think he can finish a few as well.

I think Junior has always been there or there abouts. He started like a house on fire at Blackburn then he just levelled out a bit. Sometimes you’re just in the right place at the right time."

"I would imagine most of those will be looking at Ken anyhow. I’m sure agents have a lot of influence at times. I hope in Ken’s situation he listens to me as well. I think I’ve changed his whole career around and sometimes you get the wrong advice and you just hope it’s not adhered to.

If he has another good season here I think the sky’s the limit. You can go a bit too early, especially with the money flying around in the Premier League at the minute. We might get £15m offered for Nathaniel Mendez-Laing at this rate!

I think if we got £30m offered we’d have to sell him. What price do you put on someone like that? I think Kenneth’s better than a lot of the ones that have moved on but we’re not thinking about it really. What is money nowadays. It’s a commodity Premier League clubs have all got."

"I feel sorry for Ward, he’s on fire in training and looks so sharp, then we put him on the left wing, but he’s such a credit to us. You need squad players like him. Kadeem’s got to come back at some stage. It’s promising.

We’re looking to see how we can improve all the time. You just don’t know what’s going to happen in the next week. If nothing happened between now and Thursday I’d be happy."

Although NW made mistakes which cost us the Carabao match, things are really looking great.

He turned 32 in January.

He's very good to have around the dressing room and a massive character within the squad happy he's here for longer

Interesting that he quoted he can't force people to go out on loan.
