Home to Burton, couldn't make it up.......by the way what a tortuous and unnecessarily complicated method of doing the draw

Poor draw for us but well winnable. Newport just drew Leeds, very big game for them and one their fans will look forward too.

I didn't catch the start so I was completely confused how Championship teams getting pulled out of one bowl were getting drawn to play against Championship teams being pulled out of other bowl. I switched it off when they finished the Southern draw and moved on to the Northern draw.

Then I come on here to see Southern based Newport have been drawn against Northern based Leeds. Now I'm even further confused.

Newport were moved to Northern draw because the pitch wouldn't have been ready if drawn at home

That still doesn't make sense. They could just have easily been drawn at home in the Northern section.

All they had to say before the draw was that Newport County would be playing away from whatever colour ball was drawn out.

It was more to do with West Ham also not having a ground that is ready for the tie. So if Newport drew West Ham we'd have a problem.

What I don't understand is why the multi million pound club WHU get to stay South while the small club, Newport County, have to cough up the larger expense of going north.
