Kennedy was my mom but Mendez was again impressive

Just got back. Thought Kennedy worked well down wing and good work for goal. Also jazz was outstanding imo

Agree jazz also played very well too

Mendez-Laing again for me tonight, as last Saturday. But some good signs across the squad as we build momentum.

Matty Kennedy for me had it all tonight he was inventive rapid his final ball was brilliant and beat his man every time, not only that but he was lucky not to score in the second half.
Very close second for me was Jazz again superb performance from him and when he linked up with Kennedy there was some real drive.
3 I'd say Ward was everywhere worked really really hard

Jazz Richards for me, didn't put a foot wrong all night. Some great passing and was superb in defence. Matty Kennedy was brilliant when he switched to the left. And Mendez-Laing looks to be a diamond, he just got everyone excited as ssoon as he got on the ball.

My ratings
Murphy 5 very nervous you can now see why he is number 3 not the player we saw last season
Halford 5 not a right back , should have gone into midfield, and Coxe should have been brought on
Morrison 6 not his normal game
Manga 6 seemed to be off the pace quite a bit just a one off (I hope)
Jazz 8 excellent game shows what a good player he is, great interchanges with kennedy and some cracking passes
Damour 5 did not do much did show potential
Okeefe 5 run and run but not the player we saw last season, must be on his way if Neil can get someone else in
Kennedy 9 had an excellent game, shown tonight just what a good player he is, going to starting in first team before long
Tomlin 8 never stopped running and excellent passes, going to be a real asset
Ward 7 never stopped trying even when those high balls were pinged to him
Pilkington 1 must be on his way
Laing 9 excellent but when he first came on, trying shots instead of crossing but Neil must have had a word, much better after
ralls 7 tightened up the midfield made a difference
Hoilett 7 another who made the difference

It's a tough one this time, hard to choose between Jazz, Mendez Laing and Kennedy! Richards was absolutely solid and I get more fond of him the more I watch him play. I'd say Mendez only just had a better game than Kennedy but I wasn't expecting Kennedy to perform as well as he did, he was superb! The three of them were. Mendez wins it for me though. And there was me thinking we only had 2 decent out and out wingers in Hoilett and Harris! Pahahaha!

Kennedy for me

Mendez -laing. He came on and changed the game

Matty Kennedy

Kennedy just ahead of Mendez-Laing at the moment.
Would think the latter is pushing for a start on Saturday after two good substitute appearances.

I think your ratings are just about spot on
Jazz Richards is so underrated and is the best right back at the club and I said that from day one. Him and Joe Bennett complement each other whether playing full backs or wing backs.
Kennedy has earned his spurs and losing Harris for 3 months shouldn't be really noticed with MK as the perfect replacement.
However, the star of the pack so far is undoubtedly Mendez-Laing.

There were a lot of players that played well last night. Jazz, Damour, Tomlin, Mendez-Laing and Ward all impressed me but Kennedy pipped them all for motm imo. His trickery, decision making and most of all his delivery was spot on, he was unlucky not to get his goal. Can't see him scoring many headers soon though

Mendez for me jazz and Kennedy also had good displays. O'Keefe was shocking and Ward didn't make enough runs for Tomlin thankfully Zohore will.

Mendez Laing for me, instant impact and along with Tomlin was the only one willing to take risks and attack Portsmouth, Kennedy was hit and miss.. he literally for the first half hour just hit aimless crosses in the box because he was too scared to take his man on, he eventually grew into the game and started to take on players.
Mention to Danny Ward who was thrown a load of s**t for 3/4 of the game of long aimless balls, he did manage to get around Pompey second half but if people think he was poor last night need to rethink their opinion.

We will have to disagree of Ward you could see Tomlin several times moaning at him for not making the runshe just didn't look mobile enough a much better second choice to Zohore than we had last year anyway so a good signing for me. Kennedy crosses were okay better than most of our other wingers usually deliver but again not enough runs being made in the both. Laing was brilliant and when Tomlin and Zohore start to click together other teams better watch out because they are going to be deadly
