" Cap on the ticket prices in the championship "

I know this topic has been discussed many a time but it just doesn't make sense how some clubs charge such different amounts. Say for example what do we charge away fans £22-25?

I'm not sure but then when you go somewhere like Ipswich, Leeds or Wednesday its closer to £40! It would be much better for fans if there was a price cap on championship clubs away tickets such as £23 or £25 max! I think any more than £25 is too much.

Fair enough if that club go up to the PL than fine charge abit more or if they go down charge less. There are some clubs I will not go away to due to their ticket prices and they will lose out on ticket sales. It's beyond really to charge £35-40 for a ticket for an away fan and with the travel on top it's ridiculous!

I'm off to Wolves away in a couple of weeks and don't mind the £25 ticket price, I think it's fair but wouldn't want to pay any ore than that for any fixture!

They could even bring in a rule of £25 for every team to charge an away fan. That way some clubs don't take the mick and for smaller clubs coming up they get a fair deal too!

Just shows how much we are used to being ripped off in this country. When fans believe £25 for 90 minutes worth of football is good value, it is only because everyone is so accustomed to paying over the odds for nearly everything. If players and agents were paid what they are worth in comparison to other occupations. we would be paying £15 tops for adults, and £5 for kids. Add on a programme, grub and a drink and that would still come to around £30 or £35 for a father to take his son out for an hour and a half of football, more still if he has a couple of children. :old:

It's still pricey as hell

I think away fans should either be able to pay for an away season ticket at a set price or £20-25 is reasonable.

When you take into account the travelling costs, food and any merch purchased by a supporter it can cost ££

I've already shelled out £150 on merch and yet to see them play this season plus renewal of my season ticket.

Also I know it's slightly off the topic but I can't believe that x amount of cup games aren't included in the season ticket?!

Twenty is plenty. These clubs spend f*cking millions in seconds and they want to milk the fans, most of their cash comes from TV and sponsorship. Whats the difference between charging £20 or £30/35 to these clubs? ...say a club took 3k away fans which is a high figure, that's only an extra 30k. Sounds a lot but that's only one or two players wages for ONE WEEK at most clubs in champ these days.

the prem has capped away fans at £30.

i did assume that when the prem announced the 30 quid cap the EFL would follow suit.
makes no sense to me that you pay more for an inferior product.

Fair point and I agree - £20 would be much more reasonable and I would probably go from attending 5-10 away a season to 15-20 if each match cost £20 - not just about being more affordable but knowing that I'm getting a fair deal for the entertainment. There should be a tiered system so for example the PL - £30, Championship £20, league 1 and 2 £15? Non league £10?
