last time in championship they took tremendous numbers away considering where they are based fp. Always respected these, that mob in Cardiff early doors for FA Cup game was up there with anything that has come to Cardiff. And I heard they pretty much run the show at England v Scotland game a few years later

To be fair, I think anyone would sell out their away allocation if their team paid 15 million for Brett Assombalonga, 9 million for Martin Braithwaite, 7 million for Ashley Fletcher, 5 million for Darren Randolph, plus other big money signings to bring in players of the calibre of Cyrus Christie and Johnny Howson.

We took 1,800 to Taffs Well and we sold out our allocation for Burton. I could understand you knocking our poor support last season, but that was because many fans were disillusioned and normal fans on a normal wage who went to the Euros like myself had to drastically cut back. I will be at Wolves and Fulham and I expect us to take thousands to both games. I think this season will be different.

Ross, are u seriously including Taffs Well virtually a suburb of Cardiff

Burton away great away support, needs to be every week , last few years we've been in the bottom three worst Away supports.

Clubs like Plymouth,Bristol Rovers, Bradford, Pompey etc have not spent big money and their away supports are better than ours, thankfully I believe it's finally returning :thumbright:

People get bored going to the same grounds every season, people enjoying going to new grounds. Has any team been in the championship as much as us in the last 10 years or so? I know Boro where in the championship a shirt time a go but no doubt lots of new grounds for them to visit.

Leeds have been in there many many years and still sell out every away game.

Boro spend most of their life in the Championship other than the odd yr in Prem.
BORO 2009–2016: The Championship.

Shelf Wed spend yrs in there, sell out every away game.

Bradford spends yrs in the lower divisions.

I agree it does get boring, but Luke try nine yrs in the 4th Div following Cardiff, I never missed an away game, great days away :thumbright: :thumbright: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

BORO 2009–2016: The Championship

BORO''S best ever season winning League cup in 2004, not like they have had yrs of winning trophies.

BORO In the last 10 years they have done nothing but struggle in the Premier League and struggle.

Ok take Boro away from it how about how come Plymouth, Bristol Rovers, Bradford City,Sheffield United, Grimsby, Pompey, Luton, Carlisle etc etc take more away than us, please as usual give me some more excuses ???

Why not be fair and give praise when it's due, u always seem jealous of other clubs away support.

We took less than 1,300 to Burnley(I was there) to win the Championship and create history for the first time in 51 years. We were given 3,000 tickets,it was a Saturday 3pm and you could pay cash on the day.

So are some of you saying that we should not sell our 2,500 allocation?

No jealousy from me just upset that I've known so many city fans die over the years without the club giving them much to cheer.the clubs you love to laud so much have given there fans success no Cardiff fan could dream of .even your beloved Pompey 7 years in premier league win fa cup win and Europe .ye and boro 15 years in premier league .no mate since I started going in the 70s I've seen so many fans come and go because the club just never delivers. Here's hoping hey?

A lot of truth there, Yes Cardiff City have Never shown respect to our fans or cared for them, thats sadly true in my opinion and when we got to the Premier League they shit on us true fans in my opinion.

100% not my beloved Pompey, just respect for their loyal fans.
They have had years of misery and collapsed down the Leagues, but their fans stayed loyal.

Seen as you seem to think you can give every reason for other clubs having better away support than us,how come Plymouth,Bristol Rovers,Lincoln City,Grimsby,Luton,Bradford City,Carlisle,Sheffield United etc etc have better away support than us?
They are not all ex Premier League clubs are they?

In the last 20 years,We have had 18 yrs of a very good standard of football, three promotions,Prem football, only one relegation,Wembley 5 times, top players playing for us,new ground etc.

In 1952/53 (our first season in Division One in almost a quarter of a century), our average crowd of 37,933 was our highest ever and it was enough to make us the eighth best supported club in England/Wales.

You said Leicester took over 2,000 to Burton recently, they're barely 30 miles apart, so what's the difference with me including Taffs Well?

The support will return this season. :thumbright:

I've met loads of Teeside lads through work, every single one of them is a Boro fan, I've never met anybody from the Boro who isn't a Boro fan. They have a massive local support.

That depends how we are doing in the league. If we're poor and mid table the apathy will be there and that will reflect away attendances. There's no doubt about that.

Hopefully, we're flying this season and the home and away crowds will be good.

And Ross? I never praised them, I just put out pre-season away supports :thumbright:

But I will say this then, ok would we have taken 2,000 fans to Llanelli pre-season friendly?

Taff Well is 100% a pure Cardiff area and the route for the valleys to pass to get to Cardiff :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
