Burton Albion: The miracle of the last 10 years?

Neil Warnock:

"It gave me a great grounding. I spoke to the chairman and people I know are coming to the game, it’s family orientated club and always will be, it’s great to go there. If you told me when I was managing all those years ago they would be playing in Championship I’d say you were stupid."

"They haven’t got as much accolades as they should, It’s the miracle of the last 10 years. Last year the lads said they were battered up there abut I’m hoping we‘re ready for it and the challenge ahead."

Last season then everyone was battering us. I liked Trollope but he just was never the right person for the job and it quickly become apparent he was not.

anyway onto Burton which is what this thread is about. Their rise is a special one to me as I have been watching them when not watching Cardiff. Nigel Clough is their manager again and I recall the first time he was their I watched them get stuffed 9-1 at home to Barnet. Clough was still playing in those days and on that day his father the famous Brian Clough was in the stand. Clough senior was so relaxed compared to when you saw him being interviewed on telly. Even so all the Burton fans were on their best behaviour with him around and dare not slack the team off when they were letting all those goals in.
