Cardiff City

Thursday 3rd August 2017

Manager: Neil Warnock

Appointed: October 2016

The fan view: I think Warnock is just what Cardiff needed. We went through a tough spell since our relegation, but the hierarchy finally made the right choice in bringing him in. He steadied the ship and pushed us on to a comfortable finish last year which looked highly unlikely under Trollope.

He’s also repairing some of the damage between fans and the club which is good to see, he’s brought the feel good factor back to the club which is only a good thing for this season. I think he’ll have us around the play offs this year, we won’t be a team who will be pushovers.

I don’t think we’ll quite be up competing up the top as I think the squad is still a bit thin in areas. The defence is our strongest area, but if injuries hit midfield and up top then I think we could have major problems.

A couple more signings in the centre and I’d feel a little better. The fans will trust his judgement though, he hasn’t put much wrong yet so here’s hoping he exceeds my expectations.

I just got this nagging doubt that Warnock hasn't done quite enough in bringing in quality signings to bolster our play off hopes, so my forecast is another mid table finish, which I still maintain is what Tan wants

Ok Mr.football expert in your very humble opinion where you think City will finish in the table, would prefer your answer based with your head not your heart

Oh Mr.nubbsy it would appear that for the very first time you don't seem to have an opinion, all I'm asking is where do you think City will finish at the end of the season

I have a life I have to attend to so excuse my slow response.

I wasn't knocking your opinion as such, your probably not far off. just taking the piss of your opening statement as your an extremely negative poster! Nothing personal.

But my prediction is that I think people get carried away because clubs are spending so much, but truth is most of these signings are hugely inflated and overpriced (as are there squads, as ours was on religation).

However, Unless we sign another CM and ST I think we'll miss out on the play offs - 7-9th but no lower.

I cannot for the life of me think why any owner of a football club would not want promotion especially the premier league with all the money that awaits
And please do not say revenge for the rebrand fiasco

Tan because he is a business man knows full well that if City did make it to the Premiership he would have to invest millions for us to stay there and he is not prepared to do that

A single season in the premier league is now worth a minimum of 100 million plus3 further seasons of substantial parachute payments following relegation. Tan needn't spend a penny following promotion, accept relegation, use the money to pay off what the club owes him and sell a debt free club for a tidy sum. Promotion is the only way he can get his money back.

Re: ' Cardiff City '

Thu Aug 03, 2017 8:47 pm

You may have a valid point.......

Tan has been up and down with us more times than a milk mans handbrake!

I think he wants out -perhaps though, it is with us promoted so he can get cash back.

A mid type stable club that churns out a 10 mill player a season to keep afloat just ain't us.

We are a barmy army - a season without any type of hope and heartache just wouldn't do

This mismanagement of Malky myth amuses me. We won the title by 8 points and we were never in the relegation zone under Malky's Premiership reign.

We would still be in red if Tan didn't interfere and cock things up by sacking Malky and bringing Ole in mind, so Tan cocking things up turned out to be a good thing in my opinion.

If Tan wanted the club to get to the PL and remain there, he knows he would have to virtually buy a new team. Unfortunately, as all the other clubs and agents know of the ridiculous money being thrown around in the PL, players good enough to keep us there would cost an absolute fortune. Even then, it won't be easy to stay there, and fans would not exactly be keen to watch a club unless they believed there was going to be a determined effort to be competitive in that league.
