JOKANOVIC 'IGNORED' BY FULHAM

30/07/17

Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic has hit out against the club's transfer policy for a second successive summer, stating his list of targets has been "completely ignored" by the club.

The Whites operate a 'two boxes ticked' system when signing players, in which the target must be endorsed by both the club's statistical analysis and scouting departments.

But Sky Sports News understands that a number of these players, such as centre-back Marcelo Djalo, have been signed despite reservations from coaching staff that they would not be worthwhile.

This is the way of football now! did say awhile ago that Fulham use a statistics base formula for signing players, can only lead to conflict with any manager. :o

I think that it's an absolutely ridiculous idea, usually implemented by idiots who wouldn't know what player a team requires if he hit them in the face.

Statistics can certainly be of help but far, far more important is the need to trust the managers judgement AND to allow him to name the players that HE wants for HIS team. Second to that (IMO) is the need to carry out a background check on a players character and to ensure that he's not going to have an adverse effect on the dressing room. No statistics in the world can assist in those two factors/decisions.

Totally agree but unfortunately owners are more and more getting involved in who and how players are bought! As for Fulham their owner said how they will buy players in a radio interview on talk radio .
