Paul Clement has told Sky Sports News he wants a "quick resolution" on Gylfi Sigurdsson's future at Swansea.

The midfielder was left out of the Swans first-team squad for the 2-0 pre-season victory over Birmingham on Saturday due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding his future and bids from Everton.

"We still want a quick resolution," Clement told Sky Sports News. "The deadline's imminent. There's going to be a resolution to this situation in the very near future.

"It's certainly not going to go to the end of the window, no way."

While Gylfi Sigurdsson's future continues to be subject to speculation, Swansea manager Paul Clement has remained coy over two players that could be arriving at the club - Wilfried Bony and Alvaro Negredo.

Speaking to Wales Online after the Swans' 2-0 friendly victory against Birmingham, he said: "We have a list of potential targets and we will be ready to move on them as and when or if we need.

"They are both good players, but I want to concentrate on particularly those front players, working with (Tammy) Abraham, working with (Jordan) Ayew, getting (Fernando) Llorente fit, working with (Oliver) McBurnie - they are the players I'm focusing on."

I have to admire that positivity. But you get my point
