' NEIL WAROCK: "THATS IT" '

Neil Warnock has just confirmed that's it on transfers, unless more players move out from Cardiff City and unless a player needs replacing as Warnock has now used his budget up :thumbright: :bluebird:

Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock described Tomlin, 28, as his "number one" target.

Warnock does has few players on trial at the City and Warnock still wants Craig Noone, Anthony Pilkington,Declan John gone.

And, let's be fair, hasn't he done well? In Warnock we trust :bluescarf:

I think it's brilliant business by the board and Warnock.

I think if we get rid of 2 of out of these 3: Noone, Pilkington and John and keep one preferably Pilkington for me we should be fine to go ahead and Saadi is part of the plans.

Totally agree. I feel we are starting to get our act in gear

Surprised by that as I thought he said he was still looking for a few more when Loic signed last week, I thought he would be at least looking for one more sitting midfielder unless that means O'keefe might be staying put for now.

Fairly happy though if thats is all thats coming through the door, if he is desperate for one more late on in the window im sure he will get someone in on loan to save us money.

Warnock will now surely be looking at moving on the players that he has no use for, I think Emyr is the only one we have moved on so far that was still in contract apart from Lambert who we had to pay to get rid off.

Still quite happy with the dealings this summer and now looking forward to an exciting season ahead :ayatollah: :bluebird:

Hopefully the board don't go without getting any praise allowing to work alongside Warnock and follow up on who he wanted. :ayatollah:

I wouldn't be surprised if he looks to sign a few trialists forwards now - not so much transfers are they more frees.

But either way he's done outstanding he's done all his business before the first game of preseason.

What a guy!

I still see atleast 2 signings, as above said. Freebies and trialists.
I'd like to think we are going to give McGugan a chance, but i think Warnock is saying with Tomlin that he can only deal with one "Taarbt" type of player :laughing6:

I can still see 2 more coming in, probably loan deals if we can shift John, Noonie, Fred and Okeefe!

I would keep Pilks as if he's played in his correct position can also prove an asset. :bluescarf:

I was told the Tomlin deal came out of no where. Literally last minute deal, so his intentions were to sign 3 players but after Tomlin became available he was happy to use the rest of his budget

I agree with the four you mentioned getting gone, and I do do see Pilks being a decent player to keep - my issue is where does he fit in? I can't see him getting in ahead of Hoillet or Harris at the moment - and at times last season he couldn't get past Noone for a wing berth - and he isn't a striker - I'd love him to be able to play in the middle

I'm told McGuigan isn't staying and the 2 Livingston strikers also unlikely. More likely to sign the older one if any. The youngster has been on trial with about 10 clubs so wouldn't read too much into that

Just my opinion we all know the grind of the Championship he'll be great on the bench and agree with you tricky player in the middle!

It's going to be a long hard season and every player will be needed. :bluescarf:

Fred and Saadi plus insurance!

We should keep Pilks . Better player than McGugan for definite. Also, no mention of O'Keefe, who should also be retained. Noone and John do need to move on, as does Fred.

Could read a few things into it i guess. One could be that he think Saadi is good enough. And another that the he rates tomlin so highly that he thought he was worth spending the rest of his budget on!

I would say its the budget, Warnock needs Pilks/Noone and John gone, they are all costing City over £200,000 a month.

Both of those seem like good enough reasons, we have a fairly decent size squad now and unless Warnock can bring anyone in of very good quality I don't think he needs to add anymore players realistically.

Oh yeah, we looked at him towards the end of last season but were told no chance but he became available literally about a week ago and NW jumped and bought him. Rated very highly by Warnock, was first choice ahead of Hayes on his list

Re: ' NEIL WAROCK: "THATS IT" '

Thu Jul 13, 2017 3:53 pm

We now have a first team squad of 30+ players which is more than we need so I expect to see players leaving in the next few weeks. With the exception of Declan John the defence is pretty much ok for a Championship season but in midfield the likes of Noone, O'Keefe, Kennedy and maybe Pilkington are likely to leave. Up front surely the writing is on the wall for Fred. Moving 6 players on may well free up money for NW to have a look at maybe the odd loan.

Have to say what a difference between this summer and last and, in my opinion, that's ALL down to NW.

After we beat Bristol at Ashton gate last season Warnock said he was relieved when he looked at the team sheet and realised Tomlin wasn't playing against us, so yeah he definitely rates him
