Kenneth Zohore 'is not going anywhere' - Cardiff City deliver firm hands-off warning to Hull and other clubs

Wednesday 12th July 2017

Cardiff City have told Hull and two other suitors that top scorer Kenneth Zohore is not for sale.

"He is not going anywhere. We have a job to do here, he's a huge part of that and he will do a great job for us in the coming season," Bluebirds chairman says Mehmet Dalman.

The firm stance from the Cardiff chief comes as Neil Warnock targets a top six spot in the looming 2017-18 campaign, with Zohore's goals pivotal to his plans.

Hull are reported to have upped an initial £5m bid for Zohore, while two other unnamed clubs are also believed to be showing interest in the Cardiff hit-man.

However, the Bluebirds are not even prepared to entertain discussions about Zohore unless a minimum £15m offer is made, and they are far more likely to hold out for in the region of £20m.

That figure would represent so-called 'silly money', a record between two Championship clubs, and Hull are unlikely to meet it.

Zohore suddenly flourished under Warnock's tutelage midway through last season and earned a bumper new contract with the Bluebirds.

He believes Warnock is good for his own game and is up for the challenge of improving further and firing the goals that lead a promotion charge over the next nine months.

"We're going to have a real go at this next season," said Dalman. "Why would we wish to lose our top scorer and without doubt one of our best players?"

Cardiff have also turned down a £3m bid for skipper Sean Morrison from Sheffield Wednesday, a move the club feel is another statement of intent.

Warnock has riches at centre-back, with Bruno Manga, Sol Bamba and Matt Connolly also to call upon, while Greg Halford and Lee Peltier can play there too.

However, Warnock builds his teams from the back and wants strength in depth at centre-half to have a proper crack at a top six finish and promotion to the Premier League.

I heard that every time a club Skypes or face times Warnock about Zohore he asks them to hold goes into his locker and puts on Connor McGregors Mayweather blazer then restarts the call.

He just sits and waits then til they get the message
