Bamba midfield

I'm not sure Whether to read into it too much, but on the training video just posted by the city bamba was playing as a floater in the middle of the pitch Which means he was on both teams. They seemed to be encouraging most of the play to go through him could this meen he is being used as a midfielder next season with Morrison and manga at centre back. Just a theory but you never know.

That is very likely.
I think he will play as a defensive midfielder sat just in front of Manga and Morrison.
We actually played that formation with bamba in front a few times last season and it seemed to work well

I'd much prefer him play centre-back to be honest.

If this is true then we are knackered, bamba is a defender a good one at that .. we can't shoe horn him into midfield because we are short of bodies and expect to challenge .. here's hoping a couple of midfielders are on the way..

Why fix something that isn't broken? Our best centre back by far last season, I'm hoping he stays as one

To be fair the one game we played Bamba sitting in front of Manga and Morison it worked very very well!

How can you tell that from a training video lmao players often float around positions during pre season training I wouldn't be surprised if Fred was having a run out in goal

For certain games (away to strong teams) it could work. However, with our fullbacks I'd sooner play three at the back. It depends a lot on signings to come. The midfielder and player 'in the hole' will be crucial.

He played that role couple of times last season. And it worked impressively against villa.
I think it could work.
He can drop back to form a 3 CB and also there to break up the play

He played a deep DM midfield role against villa and was awesome, literally just in front of the back four. I wouldn't say everything went through him but he can def pass it out from the back. I think we'll play with three center backs at some stage this season maybe away from home and then play two up front at home.
