Gathering pace with whom ? What's your source ??

I wouldn't be surprised to see him sign for someone else. but only after he's had his contract with us settled in full.

If true to form his source is to copy and paste from another forum and place it here as his own.
Does it constantly.

I think he will do well for them. I don't think he was anywhere near as bad as some people make out for us. His fitness has been an issue but I also think Warnock has chosen not to use him a lot of the time rather than actual injury.

No. We pay his contract up at £ 25 k a week. He pockets that and then goes and gets a contract elsewhere at what ever someone else is prepared to pay. It's what he did coming here although I doubt he'll find any one dull enough to give 2 years and a further conditional contract if he steps over the white line 20 times.

If we did pay his contract up..it certainly won't be paid up in full...probably more like 50%-60% with him free to find another club and another wage

Thing is with Lambert was although he has lost any pace he did have..what I will say was when he did play for us last season he still looked pretty decent.

A fully fit Lambert can still do a good job for us next year

I agree with you if he gets fit he would be an asset when zahore gets injured

Got disagree here Wez, age against him getting over injuries so unless he was willing to take a 'pay when you play deal' think we need to ship him out.

Pretty much a non starter, the only way he's going to get match fitness is through playing and Warnock has already stated he's 3rd in the pecking order and that's before we might potentially bring someone in. He's definitely got something to offer a club if he can get fit, at the start of the season his hold up and bringing others into play was really good to be fair, he just needs quick agile players around him and feeding off him, leaving him isolated up top like Trollope did was never going to work.

agree with lots of this.
not sure why Trollope bought a player who had hardly played in 2 years. is and has always been painfully slow { probably the reason he remained in the lower leagues intil he was 29 }. and hung him out to dry.
dont see us moving him on other than by subsidising a loan..or paying up a chunk of his contract..why would anyone want to pay big wages to a 35 year old who has scored just 7 goals in 3 seasons.

Re: Ricky lambert gathering pace

Mon Jul 03, 2017 9:51 am

I think he could score goals for us, given the chance. But he'll be third choice striker at least.

Re: Ricky lambert gathering pace

Mon Jul 03, 2017 10:25 am

Would he only be third choice UNTIL Healy comes me back, and IF Warnock doesn't fancy Saadi - otherwise he's easily 5th in the pecking order by Halloween.

Frightful thought

I would rather keep him on the bench rather than let him leave and pay a large chunk of his wages to play for someone else .

Looks like the race for Lambert has a new contender Plymouth Argyle - we can drop him off on the at down for the game!

The pre-season video clips and photo gallery are on the official club site.

There are a few players to come back in next week after internationals.

O'Keefe, John, Kennedy, Noone, Pilkington are all there. No sign of Lambert!

I believe Saadi still isnt back as yet, check his recent instagram post, it basically says last day with his misses before he goes back to work or something around that, translation doesn't always come through correct.

If he wants a sweetner to leave then keep him. If he is on £1.2 million a year and wants say 50% to leave then keep him as a sub.......

The most i would give him is a month in lieu (£100k) and we shake and tear up the contract.

If we could get Ricky Lambert away for 50% of his remaining contract it would be a fantastic result. I cant see it happening. He sits on arse and he gets £ 25 k a week and we have little choice in the matter. 90% and he might bite but is worth the relocation and having to actually work for a living. I think he stays on arse and pockets the money. There's just a chance he gets an offer from the middle or far east after all he's an ex England international. Even then he'll probably want his contract paid up

I know that the ' well would you half your wages ' scenario will turn up BUT surely there comes a time when pride would kick in and its not as if he's short of a few bob is it?
If he really just wanted to play football. He'd leave
