GARETH BALE is likely to be a Manchester United player next season.
At least, that is according to the Guardian website’s deputy sports editor Barry Glendenning.
Glendenning made his comment during a discussion about Real Madrid’s interest in Monaco wonderkid Kylian Mbappe on the newspaper’s Football Weekly podcast.
Champions League winners Real fancy snapping up the 18-year-old for a world-record transfer fee.
One of the panellists suggested Mbappe’s potential arrival at the Bernabeu would throw Bale’s future into doubt.
And that is when Glendenning made his claim about the Wales superstar possibly moving to Old Trafford.
“I am convinced Bale will be a Manchester United player at the start of next season,” he said on the Football Weekly podcast.
Bale endured an injury-hit campaign last term for Real, managing just 27 appearances in all competitions.
He was left out of the starting XI for the Champions League final against Juventus and reports in Spain earlier this month suggested Zinedine Zidane would consider selling him to free up room for Mbappe.
United are currently in talks with Bernabeu bosses over a deal for Alvaro Morata.

Not this shot all summer again it ain't happening noatyer how much media try to make out it is. Madrid want to keep him and Bale rightly wants to stay at the biggest club in world football. Can't see him leaving for many more years yet.

One dodgy season and already talk of him leaving?! He'll probably be given 2 more seasons then we'll talk of where he'll be afterwards.

Why would Real Madrid signing a striker threaten Bale? Benzema is the player at risk. What a stupid article.

Every season.
If the Ronaldo stories are true, and he leaves them, they'll want to nail Bale and Benezema to the Bernabau.
