Real Mallorca were last night Relegated to Spanish League Segunda B where their biggest Rivals Atletico Baleares currently play and are involved in the plays off to try and get promoted from there for the first time in 55 years.
Mallorca were not long ago in the Spanish top flight of football, La Liga and in the European Cup Final.
Real Mallorca play in Red and have a modern ground with a capacity of 27,000, which use to be full every week and nowadays gets barely 3,000 home crowds.
How the mighty of fallen, they laughed at local rival Atletico Baleares for 50 odd years and now they will play in Segunda B next season and even worse for Mallorca if Atletico Baleares are promoted under Palma Council law, they lose their ground to Atletico Baleares as the club who are in the highest division gets to use it.
But personally I don't want it and prefer to have Baleares old ground re-opened.
If Atletico don't go up, they they will be playing a local derby game less than 4 miles away against the once so called Mighty Real Mallorca
