' Dont Dismiss Joe Ledley '

http://www.annisabraham.co.uk/2017/06/0 ... oe-ledley/ :thumbright: :bluebird:

I know the media are saying its a virtually NO about Joe Ledley coming to Cardiff City.

But I am hearing Ledley is pushing to come home and would take a pay cut, rem he's also a free agent.

I have also heard if Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock can get an increased budget of Tan, which I have heard Warnock has asked for, then Ledley would be on the cards for next season to be a Bluebird :thumbright: :bluebird:

Joe Ledley has bought a house in Penarth and yes Joe Ledley would love to move back to Cardiff and play for his hometown club, but also his family want to as well and Ledley loves being close to his family in Fairwater.

Joe Ledley a hero for Wales and it would be fantastic to also see Ledley be a hero and help get his hometown club Cardiff City promoted to the Premier League.

Nigel Harris: The dilemma here is that Joe, even with a pay cut, would still be a huge chunk of budget when he is too similar a player to Ralls and Gunnar. City's cental mid is crying out for a more creative, goalscoring option.

I think I agree with Nigel, although i trust Warnock, and if he did sign him the deal would have to be right and no doubt he would have a plan.

Personally reading between the lines though, I don't think Warnock wants him.

when we got two SIMILAR player's who's YOUNGER ? Also a player who's legs are gone and left us before without a fee . Do you need anymore facts?

Re: ' Dont Dismiss Joe Ledley '

That was the clubs fault they turned down stoke hoping to get him to sign on,he's only just turned 30 he's far from being done or his legs being gone, plus he's better than any holding player we have, and as for saying that when Lambert signed not at all he's younger than Lambert and has been playing unlike Lambert was plus ledley plays a position where he doesn't need as much pace,he's a quality premiership player,if it wasn't for his past with us we'd all be loving it,people running him down is just spite that he left, pathetic!

A midfield of Richards Gunnarsson Whittingham Ledley Bennett and I would start believing in a promotion next season

I'd take Joe Ledley in a heart beat but as always providing the deal is right. 2 years at what we think he's worth to us being realistic of course. Could definitely do a job at the top end of the championship.

Lambert didn't work on the pitch, these things happen even more so with older players. The deal was disaster before the ink was dry on the paper though. Over the odds wage at £ 30k a week. Over the odds contract length at 2 years but the icing on the cake, agreeing to extend it into his 38th year if he played a paltry 20 games. It doesn't matter that it was agreed at five to eleven on transfer day and they were all desperate to get to MacDonalds, whoever agreed that deal should have been sacked.

I hope it works out but rarely do players who are returning to the club become succesful.

And hopefully he'll shave off that ridiculous "homeless hobo" beard.

Hopefully that's correct Annis. I feel Ledley would be a fantastic coup. When I watch Wales play especially over the last 2/3 years, our midfield doesn't look the same without him in there.

At only 30, he's still young and has easily 3 good years left in him. :ayatollah:

Granted but what part of we conceded to many goals last season do u not understand? Ledley is an upgrade on what we have,he's free and wants to play for Cardiff unlike some players who are only there for the pay packet,it would mean we still have our full budget to spend on a number ten and a striker and a winger

conceded too many goals.? only 3 more than Huddersfield who are now in the prem.
and 3 less than reading who were only penalty kicks away from the prem themselves.

Re: UPDATED ' Dont Dismiss Joe Ledley '

Sat Jun 03, 2017 12:59 pm

I really hope this comes off.

Ledley is the type of player that makes time for others.

No coincidence that when he's fit he plays every time for Wales. Coleman even took him to the Euros with a broken leg!!

At Championship level he will help Gunnar dominate most midfield battles and the fact he's taking a pay cut when he could clearly earn more sitting on the bench in the Prem shows enough about his motives for me.

If he signs it's because Warnock wants him and that should be enough for all of us at this stage !!

Re: UPDATED ' Dont Dismiss Joe Ledley '

Sat Jun 03, 2017 2:27 pm

Each to their own but we have been signing players from League 1 & 2 in recent years and it hasn't helped us much, now that we're signing a player from a division above and also a part of a national side which did extremely well in the most recent major competition, we're apparently taking a backwards step. Like I said, each to their own, but I believe this is a forward step if anything

Re: UPDATED ' Dont Dismiss Joe Ledley '

Sat Jun 03, 2017 2:27 pm

Really surprised with the negativity over Ledley, NW has a fantastic record with the experienced players he brings in his squads. As for we have Gunner and Ralls, I think people forget it's about the squad not 11 players, 3 quality players for 2 positions seems right to me.

Signing Ledley on the terms discussed is a no brainer.
