I honestly don't know, but £12m would only make a relatively small dent in the outstanding debt. Be interesting to see how much of that is made available for team strengthening. Possibly give us an idea of how serious we are about a proper push for promotion.

Steve, Warnock will offload another load of over paid playersplus players like Manga/Whitts etc contracts have expired them two alone were about £250,000 a month.
Then you have the likes of Craig Noone,Pilkington,John leaving etc etc![]()

Our wages have come down massively in the last three years, Warnock never really bought last season, I personally expect Warnock to receive at least £6mill, maybe even £8mill, thats not asking for a lot in the Championship to even just survive,we are going for promotion![]()

£16mill payment to Cardiff City, if true, there is no excuses why Warnock can't get a good budget of Tan, Tan will already be getting about £10mill in our last parachute payments.

Annis
The club received about £16m in parachute payments in season 2015/16 which is the year for the last set of published accounts. Despite this, and despite a debt write off of £10m, the club lost £8m in that year. So without parachute payments and without that debt write off the club would have had to reduce costs by about £34m just to break even.
I personally haven't seen confirmation of the parachute figure for the season just ended, but would expect it to be a similar figure to the £16m and I suspect Vincent Tan will not yet have decided what debt write off he will make in those 2017/17 figures.
There will have been very big wage cost savings last season and further ones already planned before next season in terms of current players that will be let go. There should also have been some big savings in the figure written off player costs in the accounts ( called amortisation) as we didn't have anywhere near as high a transfer cost to start with compared to previous seasons.
What some posters in this thread are missing is that the £16m figure isn't on top of the money we have received in previous years ( in fact it is less than the amount received in a couple of recent seasons) but a replacement for a similar sum received in a year when the club still lost money.
Everyone apert from the owner would just be guessing if they gave a figure for how much Neil Warnock has in his budget for transfer fees and wages for new players. My own guess is that it will include a transfer fee budget of no more than £5m or £6m and then only if he is able to get a sensible transfer fee in from the sales of No one,Pilkington and maybe a few other first team squad players
