' Updated Idriss Saadi's future at Cardiff City '

Promising striker Idriss Saadi unlikely to stay with Cardiff City

Thursday 1st June 2017

Despite his prolific season at Belgian Pro Ligue side KV Kortrijk, Idriss Saadi will not stay at Cardiff City this summer after reports from Belgium.

Belgan newspaper Het Nieuwsblad say that when Idriss Saadi returns from Kortrijk, he will leave almost ‘immediately’ for another side.

Idriss Saadi’s form has not gone amiss with the Algerian national team after being called up for the preliminary African Cup of Nations squad back in January after scoring 16 times in 37 appearances in the red of Kortrijk.

Many Bluebirds fans were hoping to see Saadi be given a chance over the pre-season after an injury-stricken first season at the Cardiff City Stadium after his move from French side Clermont where he scored 18 times in 39 appearances.

French-language media reporting that Saadi will be leaving Cardiff straight after the end of his loan spell, also suggesting Gounongbe could be heading to K.V. Kortrijk, a club owned in part by Vincent Tan.

Would like to see Saadi given a chance here, next season. Gounongbe to Kortrijk would be good for all parties.

Nothing new here on Saadi. It's been said for some time that he wouldn't be returning ;)

No surprise on Fred if it happens, despite Neil Warnock's recent comments but I have a feeling he will stay at the club at least for pre-season in an effort to see if he can rediscover his game :ayatollah:

I'm surprised has'nt been given a chance. Just hope that whoever we buy is better than him, because to be fair he has scored some good goals this season. Be a shame to fork out money on someone who is not as good as what we have already.
