Police take man away from Swansea Quadrant
The Quadrant shopping centre and Swansea Market were evacuated on Wednesday afternoon after a suspect package was found.
Police later confirmed the incident was a hoax.
Reports and photographs on social media showed locations at the heart of the city's shopping district, being cordoned off by emergency services shortly after 2pm today.
South Wales Police said: "An incident occurred at 2.05pm today in the Quadrant shopping centre, Swansea, where a suspect package was placed – which later has turned out to be a hoax.
"The Quadrant was evacuated with the assistance of our partners and within a short period of time, one male was arrested – and the police are continuing with their enquiries.

"We would like to thank people for their patience and understanding with regards to the evacuation.
"The area of the Quadrant will reopen shortly.
"While we ask people to be vigilant, we will take robust action against anyone who causes significant disruption through hoax activity."
