NEIL WARNCOK SAVES CARDIFF CITY'S SEASON AND GIVES US HOPE

Sun May 07, 2017 1:26 pm

Neil Warnock (and not forgetting his coaching team) has proved a revelation at Cardiff City FC since his arrival and we have seen the club steadily pull away from the abyss that beckoned under the previous management team

My own opinion is that without the change that occurred the club would have struggled to avoid relegation on an effectively rudderless ship!

Neil Warnock has not only pulled the club up by the scruff of the neck but he has also created a better atmosphere amongst the club's support, providing some honest opinion and some hilariously funny moments!

Effectively, this season was over for us weeks ago, but Warnock insisted the players continue to put in a shift and today's result (regardless of Huddersfield's priorities) was a point in proof. As a result, I feel that we (the fans) have had a continued interest in the season as we look to see the next instalment of evolving the saga called 'What Warnock does next!" :laughing6:

Not been a great season but it certainly brightened up, so I'm now looking forward to next season with a renewed enthusiasm and it's all down to the arrival of one man! :thumbright: :ayatollah: :notworthy:

Agree to a certain extent, but I think we have eventually finished where many predicted we would at the start of the season. Looking at our squad back in August, a mid table finish always looked likely. We have finished a huge 31 points adrift of the automatic promotion places, and it will be difficult to get an extra 30 points next season without a big improvement to the squad. Unfortunately, given the financial situation at the club, I am not convinced we will be able to get in the sort of players needed to bridge that gap. Hopefully, we can at least threaten the play off places next season, will have to see who Warnock can bring in over the next couple of months, and also whether or not we lose any of our better players.

Steve, the issue was certainly the so-called Head Coach at the start of the season and Neil Warnock still had to come in to sort it out...and he certainly did!

Not sure about next season but I know I believe we will be a lot closer to the play-offs, if not in them but I agree with you that a lot will depend on who Warnock can bring in this summer! :ayatollah:

This season is about discovering a potential monster in Kenny. Next season is about feeding that monster. The truth is we probably couldn't afford Kenny if he was on the open market, so there's one difference maker in the bank.

How we wean ourselves from set plays is the most important factor. Today three goals from open play is a good start, but if Sir Pete is leaving or his role is massively reduced we need better than what we have left to deliver a dead ball.

I trust Warnock, so over to him and his team

I am glad the season is over, i am all footballed out. I cancelled BT & Sky sport last month (ran out the day before the newcastle game :( ) so a full sabbatical for me

NW only had 6 on the bench today so of the players at the club not injured, like Declan John and Fred, surely this suggests they are the first two out the door.

."I have steadied the ship and I have not spent a penny yet. I have agreed a couple of fringe players but we are looking to sign three or four who can really help us.

"Now it's time for a rest because the players have worked their socks off. I want the players to enjoy it with me. We don't train every minute of the day but I want them to die for me when they get out on the pitch

NW post match interview comments.

Loves him I do. :D

Before a ball was kicked we were expecting mid table however that horrible start we had under Trollop made things different I deeply believe if Warnock had not come we would have been below Wigan and in league 1 in August.

We all said we needed 50 points to be safe poor Blackburn went down with 51 points its a tough league.

The whole atmosphere has changed since Warnock took over the supporters and the club and have to say his team too some players looked finished and fair play to Warnock made them so much better Kadeem Whits and Gunnerson Ralls but what he did with Zohore was a miracle

I am looking forward to see the players going out and coming in this summer and then next season

I was thinking about this today. I remember pre-season we were all asked our predictions for where we would finish and the thread starter said he would put them back up at the end of the season.

There must be loads who got it right as I remember many predicting a mid table finish. However, I got it horribly wrong as my promotion via the play-offs was a bit off the mark

Proves that the biggest signing is the manager. Without a decent one a team is doomed in the Championship.

Well at least we are going into next season with a well qualified manager this time.

Without doubt if we had Warncox at the start of this season we would have I believe just missed out on the play off. With his own players next season you never know we might hit the play offs. I still think it would be a great achievement if we do. The season after we should all wait for.
