" Previous Managers Were Dictated to, Says "

Thu May 04, 2017 5:59 am

Nathan Blake in today's Media Wales Says

"In Russell Slade and Paul Trollope Cardiff had managers who were being dictated to, rather than running the show."

" That's not the case with Neil Warnock — if he felt he didn't have full control, he'd wave the club goodbye in a heartbeat."

" The stupidity of previous signings means it's a problem of the club's own making."

"You can blame previous managers for buying the players, but the club should have been more savvy when signing off the cheques, because the knock-on effect is the Catch 22 situation now facing Neil Warnock."

My opinion
And for me this is why we will now progress as we now have a manager who knows his football and what's needed and is able to get on with it.

We have spent the last two years getting rid of players which have wasted us £millions and still kept buying them, we were never learning, now finally under Warnock that had stopped.
Funny I use to get slated for saying all this every season and called negative, now the truth and facts are all there.

Some will try and blame previous managers but after 8 Managers and 6 CEO'S the blame lies at the very top 100%.
We might just now finally get out of it thanks to Neil Warnock :thumbright: :bluebird:

Blake has twisted it a bit.Though what you say is true to a point both Slade and Trollope walked into this with eyes wide open as to the then situation. Both brought their own players in to varying degrees of success and you could argue that some of Trollopes signing have done OK,the noteable exception being Lambert. The headline suggests that they were bullied but I would disagree with that.Doesn't make what you say about Warnock less true.

Blake never ever spouted a truer word.

if they were dictated to then who can blame VT for the mess Malky and Ole put us in.

The club is the best its been for years and that's down to VT whether you like it or not.

Blake has said stuff in the past proven to be wrong.
i'd like to know who his sources are for these comments.
I'm struggling to think of a manager whose left us and bettered himself, so it could easily be an easy option to blame someone else.
I can't see how a guy on the other side of the planet can tell the manager what to do, you could blame Dalman or someone else for "passing on info". But i'm sceptical.

Nathan Blakey: "Cardiff have gone crazy with money and unfortunately that now means they've got to reign in the spending."

which bit ?
he does seem to contradict himself. Warnock wont take being dictated too like previous managers but at the same time previous managers bought poor players for too much money which the club should have been more savy about.
cant have this both ways you either back your managers judgement or you second guess his decisions

Very good comment. Nothing is an exact science and if the club is to back the manager then to a great extent they have to rely on his judgement. The Lambert deal was a complete cock up but if it hadn't gone ahead then VT would have been slaughtered for cost cutting and pocketing the parachute payments amongst other allegations.

As pointed out above even though Trollope dropped a huge bollock with the Lambert transfer he did make some good signings (Jazz Richards/Joe Bennett) being the pick, it's just he wasn't a manager and would have led us to relegation for sure.

Not the full story as income is decreasing year on year as the parachute payments drop so spending would have to be reigned in any way.

Wouldn't really say mm put us in a mess, one or 2 duff signings but even fergie did them.
Tan has finally got one thing right, a new manager, a proper one. Taken him how many years to stop thinking he knows best?
I think all we need is a strong presence in the pitch, a team leader, a Kav or a Hudson type and we can really progress.
