Cardiff City misfit Le Fondre finally set to depart for good
By Jamie Kemble
Cardiff City misfit Adam Le Fondre is finally set to part ways with the club at the end of this season.
It’s easy to forget Adam Le Fondre is still a Cardiff City player and even easier for him given he smashed in Bolton’s third goal on the weekend to secure promotion to the Championship.
However, he remains under contract with the Bluebirds, or at least until the summer when his bumper deal expires.
And Le Fondre has admitted his future remains away from South Wales despite signing for more than £2 million back in 2014.
The 30-year-old just finishing his second loan spell with Bolton and after helping them over the line, the former Reading striker is hoping to re-join the Trotters in the Championship.
Speaking to Bolton News, he said: “I don’t suppose Cardiff are going to renew my contract – but obviously Bolton will be my first port of call.
“I came here to score goals, I did that. We got promoted and that was the main thing.
“I have made no bones that if there is something there for me this summer I’ll sign it but it has to be right for both parties.
“It depends what happens now with the powers that be. I have reaped the rewards of coming back to Bolton. It has revitalised me.”
Le Fondre scored just three goals in 23 games during his spell at Cardiff and it was quickly apparent that it was a match made in hell.
Amid a lack of success on the pitch, Le Fondre made it clear he was ‘homesick’, leading to a number of loan spells and he would never return to the Bluebirds’ plans.
Neil Warnock will be looking to offload players on large contracts to make room for incomings this summer.
And with Le Fondre having no intention of remaining in South Wales, his disastrous time at the club is finally set to come to an end.

Hate this player and if he with Bolton I hope our supporters give him the shit he deserves at home. His attitude towards our club was terrible he has to go down as one of the worse signings ever at Cardiff
