Average away support at ccs this season

Sun Apr 16, 2017 7:27 pm

Excluding cup is 922, quite low when you consider the averages that these clubs take away in the championship. So why do clubs continue to shun the most beautiful city in the world?

Distance mate, simple as that, very few take many to the likes of Brighton for the very same reason.

Just an example for you to digest and work into your one stat
Aston villa fans will do 4700 miles following Thier team to all 23 away games
Cardiff city fans will travel 8400 to follow their club to all 23 games
And maybe you should work out the average of away fans coming to Cardiff city see how that stacks up against us
Why just knock us fans

1,126 Sheff Wed brought to Cardiff on a Tuesday night this season.
280 Cardiff took to Sheff Wed on a Saturday 3pm

Ipswich at City 750 fans, us at Ipswich 229 fans

Derby at City 520 fans , us at Derby 308 fans

Norwich at City 1,108 , us at Norwich 302 fans

That is quite low, especially when you think how much money and effort the club has made to roll out the red carpet for visiting fans and make sure they have a fantastic "matchday experience" when they visit Cardiff.

Just like the way we're treated when we travel to welcoming places like Leeds, Wolves, Villa etc.

Big big apology I've read the post wrong
Thought it was saying our away numbers
Now I've read it correctly
Those numbers of visiting fans to us is about the same numbers we average away this season hmmm

Exactly, yet some people want to hammer our fans/club as much as possible.

For Aston Villa you can also add Birmingham and Wolves, and give or take a few hundred miles, Forest, Derby, Burton etc Demonstrates what I have been saying for ages. Our away support is not great but its not as bad as the stats make out. We take more away to other clubs than they bring to Cardiff in about half the cases. Which in my book makes us average.

Long argued that the figures are flawed because of clubs locality! But stats appear to be all that matters? Yes other clubs in lower leagues take more away and travel further but not sure what supporters of Mickey mouse Utd as to do with our support! This post sort of reinforces point of our location as part of problem?
