Nottingham Forest have sold just over 900 tickets for tomorrow's game in Cardiff, they can pay on the day.

Like I said a million times nobody comes to Cardiff, huge game for them not on Sky bank hol Monday yet only 900 sold. We get slated week in week out. Yes we took a paltry 350 to Forest but club was in turmoil was on Sky and different circumstances. Poor suppport from forest.

Agree 100% Stringfellow. Huge game for Forest and I fully expected given the circumstances that they would have brought 2000 fans. Ah well perhaps they already fear their fate is sealed?

Surprised by that, thought they would have brought at least 1500 given the circumstances. Like us though, I suspect their fans are bored of going to the same places year on year

Gareth, I agree I thought Forest would bring about 1,500 fans, but they are currently in turmoil as they hate the owner and are struggling near the bottom.
Our fans on here only last week said Wed away on a Bank Holiday was some reasons why we would not take fans

I do rem when we were near the bottom under Trollope, that's why some on here said our away support was bad.
Burton away, City fans never been there and totally new ground,500 tickets left over, blamed it on us struggling.

So Forest are struggling

Our support I believe will start to come back next season :bluebird:

I thought the purpose of going to away games was to support the team, not to visit places you've never been before.

But I suppose the demand for tickets at Burton this season shows that not to be the case.

When people are choosing to spend upwards of £100+ to travel to watch their teams on the road, unsurprisingly most will chose to visit places they haven't been before and a trip to Cardiff to watch their team for the 8th time in the last 9 seasons may not hold much of an appeal but I suspect you all ready know that.

It's one of the main reasons our away support is so poor. It would be great if everyone could afford to go away week in week out but unfortunately, in the real world, that just isn't possible for most people so they pick and choose and a trip to a new ground will hold greater sway, hence our turnouts at Burton and Villa to name two.

And in your post you've given two reasons why our away support has fallen away so far over the past few seasons, both of which can be linked.

Firstly - the cost. Funny how so many managed to find the money to travel to the away games in the Premier League - maybe it was because of the second reason - they all wanted to go to "new grounds" like Old Trafford which meant they could suddenly afford the cost.

I find it a bit strange this obsession with away attendences and the amount of posts on the forum saying how many fans such and such take to away games. Every fan has to make his own decision and they'll justify it in any number of ways - that is completely their right.

The indisputable fact however is that the more successful a club becomes the more people want to be associated with it.
Failure or mediocrity is never going to attract a floating supporter who has so many reasons which they can use to justify not going to a game, home or away.

Which reminds me that I need to see the apparently excellent 'I Believe In Miracles' that the very talented Bluebird fan made about their golden Cloughie years that is Jonny Owen. The Forest fans loved it. Really enjoyed Svengali and Don't Take Me Home. He also did an excellent piece about Cardiff that's worth a watch if you haven't seen it yet. Talented lad indeed.

They parked the bus last season - and will probably look to earn a point tomorrow although only two points separate them from Blackburn in the drop zone.

Having spoken to some of their staff in the Vale today they are wary regarding their away form - I told them that Zahore was going to get them....

Apparently, Wayne Nash has ordered a pallet of TCP and one bottle is to be placed on every seat for the great unwashed in the away section, along with some cotton swabs so they can disinfect themselves on entry and exit

South Wales hasn't seen anything like it since the infamous 'Foot and Mouth' epidemic some years ago and authorities are unsure if this particular 'Nottinghamshire' strain can ever be eradicated

They will also be given a small piece of Welsh coal in the shape of the Three Feathers as a momento of the mining communities they helped ruin and the jobs they cost!

Agree

We were the last team to beat them before they were promoted and went on that fabulous run to win the Division One (now Premier League) title under a certain Mr Clough :ayatollah:
