" BREAKING NEWS CARDIFF STAR PLAYER LEAVING "

Fri Apr 14, 2017 6:26 pm

Neil Warnock has today said Bruno Manga had turned down a new contract( a lot less wage) and is set to leave this June.

Cardiff City paid £3.5mill and Manga will now leave as a free agent.

It is believed that Warnock is understood to be unhappy as he really wanted to keep Manga, but his budget does not allow him to offer any higher.

I don't think he will be the only one. Difficult to keep your top players when there is no money available.

It rarely bothers me when players leave, with the exception of a few. They come they go, we remain. It's football and it's always happened. Yes I would have liked him to stay, but is he replaceable ? Yes of course he is.

7 million plus wasted by ole.
We had Hudson and there was no need to purchase him.
Now we are left with a player we will lose for nothing.

Excellent point and that kind of thinking is the way ahead. I like the player but not enough to pay him £25000pw when we can get someone else to do the job for half of that.

No surprise there, and life goes on. I think his mind was made up last August.

Didn't rate him so not bothered,he would look unbeatable one moment and could totally switch off the next,so for the wages he wants,we can't afford to pay,so it's a thank you and goodbye.

inconsistent but to be honest I would have liked him to stay. Always going to happen, manga never considered staying I don't thin kalthough fair play to him hes played his part in steering us to safety.Seems to have a good attitude

tbh im more upset with the club, we knew this was his final year, why didn't we try and tie him down for another year before xmas, atleast then at the end of the season we could of tried to re-coup some cash, sad really, just another waste of money costing £3.5m + wages

Annis is Warnock unhappy he us losing Manga or unhappy the club wouldn't offer more wages for him?

From what I've read his agent didn't turn up this week as arranged for talks.

Personally I don't think Manga has any thoughts on staying here especially the way his agent wanted him back in France when he was injured.

The club can't force him to sign another contract. If you are inferring that the club should have gambled by giving him a big contract in the hope we could sell him then I'm glad they didn't. That kind of madness has had it's day at CCS.

At the end of the game today he seem to hit the badge on the shirt as if to say he was staying. Clearly i have read this wrong!

Exactly I'm not sure why he was more likely to sign in December than now. I think sometimes I think real football is like football manager.

Bruno will probably go back to France on a good wage and a signing on fee, he doesn't owe us anything we are just another club to him.

Bruno Manga set for Cardiff City exit as Neil Warnock admits talks have stalled with star defender

By Chris Wathan

Saturday 15th April 2017

Bruno Manga looks set to snub a new deal at Cardiff City with boss Neil Warnock admitting he's now not anticipating hanging onto to the star centre-back.

And while he will not give up on persuading the defender to stay for a potential promotion push next season, there is real doubt that an agreement will be reached to extend the African's stay in South Wales.

Manga was back to his best at Sheffield Wednesday with a dominant display that looked to have put the Bluebirds on course for a Hillsbrough point.

And even though Fernando Forestieri's late goal sunk Warnock's hopes of getting one over his old rivals, Manga earned praise from observers for shutting out much of the Owls' attacking threat.

It highlighted why Warnock is keen to keep hold of the Gabon international whose contract expires at the end of next month.

But Warnock conceded he is losing faith of trying to stop Manga leaving on a free, revealing: “I can't see Bruno staying at the club at he moment

"His agent was supposed to come last week but he didn't turn up and they're not making any overtures they want to stay. We will just have to muck on and see what we've got.”

Manga signed a lucrative three-year deal when he arrived from French outfit Lorient in a £4m 2014 move on the back of Cardiff's relegation from the Premier League.

Warnock had previously indicated he wanted to cash-in on the club's 2015 player of the year and admitted his bumper wages were a factor.

But having impressed before injury on international duty, Warnock had been hopeful he could persuade the 28-year-old to sign a new deal on reduced wages.

It's a shame he's a good player but we can't pay players 25k any more if we want to be a self sustainable club.

Gutted he's leaving. Agents are a nightmare. At least have the decency to turn up. Arsehole! Wherever agents can make the most money is where Manga will go. Very annoying.

not really bothered by this, lose him for ACN then pick up a injury ( cough cough ) holiday in France.
NW can use that money well.

I think there are a few decent prem squad players that could be available at the right price, Cargill at Bournemouth, Jones at WBA, Browning at Everton, Inniss Palace - they may not be Manga but with a bit of game time and coaching they could be as good if not better

If Bruno wants to stay, he will sack his agent and hire another agent who can actually be bothered to turn up.

At his best, Bruno is top half Premier League quality. I hope we keep him, even if it means we have to keep paying him 25k a week. Bruno is worth it and I think a full season of Bruno and Bamba as a partnership will lead us to promotion.

The problem is players like Lambert who we are also paying 25k a week to do absolutely nothing!

Exactly right it's that kind of spend now worry later that got us a debt of over £100 million

Agree 100%. Warnock obviously sees him and Bamba as the cornerstone of a realistic challenge next year. If he wants to stay then give him another year. It may not cost us as much as people think. We have one centre back too many at the moment and it would be a shame if he was the one to go. But if we were able to sell either Morrison or Connelly the wages saved would probably cover £10k a week of this, possibly all of it if we get a fee -£750K for either of them is not unrealistic. And if we are not in serious contention come January there is always the possibility of having an amicable parting and even getting a fee for him.

People are assuming Manga wants to stay. The fact his agent didn't turn up suggests otherwise.

Not at all. Manga wants to leave. Just like many fans want him to. Inconsistent and expensive.. Who hasn't been inconsistent and expensive these past years!?..
I think he is one of the best players at the club, and I want him to stay. I say we need him to stay. If more people felt like me, eh? ;)

so we sell morrison who is not as good but always available to keep bruno who plays half as many games and someone not as good as morrison plays the other half?
i love watching him and i think he oozes class. but he is a real luxury player.
